Llewndyn

So, I recently got completionist by going to 20 in every class pure all the way. I'm not sure why, I don't plan ahead, that's for smart people.
Once I did that, I set out to get stacking lives, but this time with MOAR MULTICLASS infused into them because I don't know why but it sounds like what the hip kiddos are doing nowadays.
Lately I've been getting a lot of questions as my builds have taken... odd... turns.
Wizard lives were your boring old monk 2/ wiz 18 WF am, and then the quintessential 18/2 wiz/ rog (had my DD/ search/spot in the mid 60s (yes, my spot was 63. I felt accomplished)!)
Then... barbarian. These builds have elicited the very classy "What the **** is this piece of **** build you smelly ***** ********* *****king ******?!" to the slightly less sailor-ish "Hey Llewndyn, do you even know what multiclassing is supposed to achieve?"
Yes, wino peeing on my house, I do.
Anyway, I submit my barb builds, and what my (very limited) thought process behind making them was.
1. The barbardighter (bar-bar-dEEtur)
7 barbarian/ 7 bard/ 6 fighter
Stats: I went Half Orc, Maxed STR and CON, and then dumped CHA. I ended up with about 600 SP and 22 songs, which is more than enough.
I took bard to 7 for HAAAAASSSTTTEE!!!!!! My fascinate, with a perform item and putting skill points in perform, UMD and Concentration only on my bard levels, was good enough to work on all heroic content and on Eberron epics, it was at 65 with all buffs and bells whistling. Never tried it in Eveningstar, but let's assume it works there too. If you build a character off of mine and go there and it does NOT work, you missed something vague and I am in no way responsible.
I took only the extra rages from barbarian, and the CON bonuses and THF boosts from horc and bard. I took 3 of the kensai thingies for heavy blades from fighter, and then put everything else into warchanter boosts. Me likey warchanter.
I ended up with a 1:24 haste, which was more than enough, and my CSW hit for 150 or so at level 20. I topped out at around 685 HP, and with all rages and completionist and +3s I ended up with 66 STR for the short 10 second boosts that forumites claim is their walking around STR so I'm gonna do it too.
Negatives: I got ATE UP at velah in EH VON 6. You are NOT a tank, and your AC and PRR can be counted on the fingers of a dead fish. My AC was 16 with all rages going, and I ignored blur/ ghostly/ moving slightly to the left because I'm a completionist so I don't move other things mo- oh look I've died.
I got asked to heal. A LOT. I'm not sure why. 7 levels of bard is not going to solo heal anywhere. That being said, with 7 levels of bard I DID manage to solo heal Amrath elites. With deaths. LOTS and LOTS of deaths. Of mostly me. Healing is HARRRD.
I then decided, for the life I'm currently on, initially to go 12 barb/ 8 sorc, because the idea of a melee who can self heal (I went WF) and self haste (mmmm..... HHHAAASTE!!!!) would be pretty good at self love (I love me). About level 6, I decided if I was gonna keep getting turned down for quests because "You can't give me a good reason your build is worth my time", as I've been told, I'd get turned down for a reason, so I have finally settled on 10 barb, 8 sorc, 2 fighter, or my vaunted... wait for it....
2. Barsorcsighter (bar-sorks-EEAtur)
10 barbarian/ 8 sorc/ 2 Fighter
I decided on 2 fighter levels so I can get power attack and cleave for "free", and still get extend and empower, and have an AoE and haste (HAAASSTTEEE!!!). I went WF because I have a docent of acid I feel guilty for taking life to life and not using, and I'm not forward thinking enough to plan around all my gear, I just use random pieces because why not. I went THF, with fighter I'm going to dabble in greataxe bonuses if I can, I have as of yet taken NO barb enhancements, and I have taken mostly Earth Savant and Eldritch Knight enhancements so I can get that free cleave thingy from EK and also get the ability to infuse my carnifex with acid.
Contrary to what some of my guildies and the general populace of Ghallanda believes, I have really shone in this build so far (level 12). Here are the steps I took in case you want to follow:
1. Get completionist.
2. Roll up a barbarian. WF, Max STR, 16 CON, put the rest into CHA.
3. Happen to have +3 tomes at least.
4. Go Earth Savant because like everyone on these forums you have a docent of Acid.
5. ??
6. Lead kill count
7. Join PUGs and no longer lead kill count
8. Come to the forums and declare Eldritch Knight OP
I took earth savant because acid spells look cool and robots spewing acid spells is totally gnar. I did no thinking past that. I actually got asked what my end build this life is going to look like and TBH your guess is as good as mine, I got to completionist flying by the seat of my pants with very few hiccoughs (my helf AA thief acrobat cleric dilletante was TERR'BUL), why start planning now? This is a game. Planning is for those who carry my soul stone to worry about.
I really like the couple of Eldritch Knight enhancements I took. I don't know that I'd want to go full on caster and take EK as my primary, it doesn't seem so good for that, but if you take arcanes as a splash to be diddled into any build so you can claim that as the reason you're piki- I mean, staying back, then it seems like a good use of one's time. So far, feat wise, I took:
Toughness
Power attack
extend spell
THF
I plan on taking Empower, and then filling up on Improved Critical: Slashing and everything I can to make my melee stuff more tougherer. With the Earth Savant stuff, I'm level 11 and sitting at 365 HP and 1250 SP, which ain't nothin' to snot at (mostly because as soon as you're done snotting you have to clean off your computer screen and that's time consuming), and, even though I don't plan anything, let's assume by end game I will have 11890378045 HP and 49803281081923 SP, give or take 20.
As far as gear, I have the requisite Minos, +6 con/ cha/ str, a repair* item on, my armor gives me 48 spellpower to corrosion, Conc Opp goggles, Lit II HP belt and Torc, all easily findable with about 25 minutes of spare time to run a few quests, nothing fancy. If you have questions, fire away.
* repair - I am too lazy to read the release notes, can someone tell me if reconstruct items do ANYTHING anymore? Reconstruct/ Devotion? I know your repair/ heal now goes off of the associated skills, which I think is stupid, but it is what it is, so I got a repair +11 item, and my repair mod damage hits for like 50 right now on a normal, I put on my Scoundrel's Greatsword with a 54 reconstruct augment in it and it hits for... 53. I can't tell if I am just getting cursed with low numbers and it DOES help or what the correlation is. If someone wouldn't mind giving me the Cliff's Notes on how the new system works and if reconstruct is the new Vertigo, that'd be great.
Well, that's all for now, I fulfilled my promise of posting my builds, let me know if there's anything you wanna know and I will go further into detail on them, and thanks for never accepting me into your groups, Majority of Ghallanda, it's made me put up my own LFMs which have led to reconnecting with some quality players from years past!
