I have recently returned to DDO after a very long break. To give everybody a time frame, I remember leaving not too long after Half Orcs and Half Elves were released. Not because I didn't like the game but because my focus was needed elsewhere.

Anyways, this was when hitting over 1,000+ in melee damage was unheard of. After I educated myself a bit, I noticed that the best players are hitting for 2,000-8,000 damage! Now, is there a thread or calculator that exists that can help break these damage numbers down for me?

I always create unique builds for myself instead of following the meta when I play and a better understanding of this new system will benefit my building ability.

Help?

Thanks.

the 1k+ crits are achieved by stacking crit multipliers and combining it with the 2 powerhouse ED's for melee. These are fury of the wild wich will give you up to 400% extra damage on your next attack, and legendary dreadnought wich will give you up to +2 crit multiplier and masterblitz wich gives up to 250% extra damage constantly.

A centered greataxe fighter in legendary dreadnought will have an x7 crit multiplier while a full ****** barb can get up to x9 (I think).
