Ok so I'm getting ready to TR into my 12th life Rogue (I have 4 more caster lives after rogue and completionist done)

So I was looking at maybe trying Sharda-Kai With A 11 Rogue and 9 Arti split. Looking for suggestions as I will have to run this guy to 28 before TR'ing again. This is something I knocked out in 20min it will need some tweaking. The missing lvl 4 Arti feat is construct essence since I cannot find that in the planner for reconstruct.

Any suggestions or critiques, Ideas, personal experiences, etc.

I went 12/8 for a rogue PL and it worked-out fine (though did TR at 20).

I'm not sure what you're going for with some of those feat selections. If going engineer/mechanic why two weapon fighting?

Can afford a little less dex and a little more cha maybe or con?

Maybe some people like construct essence but if you can hit the UMD for heal scrolls, and I think you can, then skip that? (can even skill focus UMD in place of that)

Extend?

The enhancements are obviously just thrown-together so I don't guess I need to comment on those, but enough mechanic for perma-int damage was convenient as was taking the engineer line up to tier 5 if you expect to be using rune arms much.

First of all thank you very much for your input, this is why I am asking so I don't make a colossal mistake and hate playing it to 28. Any assistance in narrowing down what I'm trying to accomplish is great. I want a fairly self sufficient character as I don't want to have to rely on others for healing, trapping, DPS, etc. So my questing and XP is not limited by who I can get. This build HAS to be a rogue build and a Shada-kai build. So any other suggestions and reasoning behind it is great. This is a past life for both rogue and Shada-Kai not an optimal end-game build I'm looking for.

"I'm not sure what you're going for with some of those feat selections. If going engineer/mechanic why two weapon fighting?"

For lack of better feats at those levels so that in situations I could not be using crossbow I would have alternative options. But I am open for suggestions.

"Maybe some people like construct essence but if you can hit the UMD for heal scrolls, and I think you can, then skip that? (can even skill focus UMD in place of that)"

I was concerned I would not hit the UMD for heal scrolls (39) early enough without getting more gear for it and then I would have to un-equip weapons, gear, etc. to heal. I hit I think 35 UMD with everything at lvl 28, And I'm not planning on staying 28 for long. Where I could use the repair line I get free with Arti and reconstruct scroll if needed. If my math is flawed and this can work out another way that's great.

"Extend?"
Since I wont be using the offensive Arti spells just the buffs this was to make them last longer since I'm not going for an abundance of spell points or caster gear.

"The enhancements are obviously just thrown-together so I don't guess I need to comment on those, but enough mechanic for perma-int damage was convenient as was taking the engineer line up to tier 5 if you expect to be using rune arms much"

Yes they were thrown together. I did not put points on Rune arm enhancements as in my experience (I know others do better) I find rune arm buffs pointless and a waste of enhancements. If you are good with rune arms great that's a bonus, but I am lees than poor with them. So since I'm not doing tier 5 Arm the .5 weapon damage is a waste if that's all I'm going for in Engineer line. But any ideas im interested in.

Toven's Hammer is a fantastic rune arm and running at speed with 3 charges on the rune arms is very useful, even with a little as 8 or even 6 artificer levels. (esp. with a lit II repeater). You can kite (by backwards circle-strafing) and unload the free action rune arm blasts as you go (more of a solo strategy, of course). The weapon attachment is less useful in my opinion because you lose it when you have to swap and it is rather slow to turn back on. (like for greater restore scrolls as well as healing scrolls)

YMMV but I found the impaired positive and impaired repair you get via construct essence to be very underwhelming. The UMD could be challenging (I'd forgotten how handy that +3 UMD from arti past lives was when playing alts.).

I enjoyed that rogue life and will do it again, probably with shadar-kai if the CoV farming levels out to a point that I think I could stand. I did have 3 ranger PLs and those 3 arti PLs going into it, though.

I'd think that dropping to melee with only the one TWF feat would be pretty disappointing as a back-up but more experienced melee'ers may disagree, I don't know, I do know that on my melee-centric toons I like me some power attack, cleave and great cleave.

Well Toven's hammer would be great! though I do not have it much less the upgrades. What your saying makes since.
Also I am not set on Arti just the self sufficiency, and that was the first best thing I went to.

Edit: I think What I should do is construct essence at 4 lvl arti and feat swap it out for Skill focus UMD when my UMD is more reliable for Heal scrolls. and make sure I raise my heal skill.

If you're doing a shadar-kai, I'd probably think about an arti 4 or 6 / rogue 13 or so / ranger.

I'd ditch construct essence - you'll start at 15 and should have reasonable UMD at that point.

I personally like INT based. I've done about 3 of these kind of mix lives (though, 1-20 not 15-28 as you're looking at) and they've generally rocked.

Does Heal impact scrolls now?
