View Full Version : Left Click Key Binding Issue

While setting up my ps3 controller via Gamepad Companion I started playing around with my key bindings to allow my controller optimal performance. However, while trying to fix a minor error with my block binding, I accidentally unbound my left click from it's normal function by setting left click for block. Now my left click function has completely stopped working, leaving me unable to use it for any purpose in-game, including on the in-game browser used to access the help center. Is there any possible way for me to reset my key bindings from the DDO files located on my computer, or any other means for that matter? And just to keep away suggestions that it might be a hardware/software issue with my mouse pad: yes, my mouse pad works perfectly well in everything else. This is simply a key binding issue.

Well, after the annoying process of reinstalling DDO, not working, then deleting all DDO files and then reinstalling, I have solved my own problem. For anyone with a similar problem, just completely delete DDO off your computer and then reinstall. Annoying, yet simple.

You probably could have reset the key bindings at the character select screen, before you're actually in the game. Options is accessible there. (I messed up my left click before and was able to reset from there)

There is an .ini file in your documents folder which you could have edited out the bad binding.

My Documents\Dungeons and Dragons Online\ddo.keymap
It's a text file, you could have just editted it.

Well. You could have if you were on Windows.
On the Mac, the key map is stored in ~/Library/Application Support/com.turbine.dndclient

Before editing the Keymap file (it has a truly arcane structure), I would simply delete the two preferences files.
~/Library/Preferences/com.turbine.DNDLauncher.plist
~/Library/Preferences/com.turbine.dndclient.plist
The other "trick" is from the launcher itself -- click on the down arrow in the upper right corner of the launcher. Select the "repair" tab. Click "Restore Defaults" in the lower left.
If those fail, make certain you have quit the client; then simply delete (rename) the keymap file and it will be re-created on launch.

Guys, I cannot find any of the above-mentioned files anywhere - and I have unhidden all files in the Library folder.
The problem is I can't click on any characters or main menu options in the character-select screen, and I have tried using the restore defaults option, and I've tried re-installing the game three times using different methods.
Please help - I just want to play!
