whats the plan with so much tumble points invested? is it a skill that you will actually use enough to justify putting points into it? I don't see the benefit other than to even the skill out to bother with points in tumble.

putting points in swim is pointless. theres only a couple quests you swim for a long period of time and with an already high enough strength, you wont actually need it. swim is really a dump skill.

heal skill for a barb is kinda pointless as well, unless you will be casting positive spells.

past life Student of the sword isn't needed either. you shouldn't have trouble hitting things, even in EE. if you want +2 to intimidate, than just take the feat but I think it would be a wasted slot. replace all the swim and tumble skill investments and put them towards intimidate instead.

no need for mobility. replace it with great cleave. a cleaving barbarian cycling through GC and SC deal a lot of damage, especially with glancing blows for good measure.

drop Willpower rage for something else. barbarians will saves are their Achilles Heel. their will saves already suck as it is and investing another 1-3 points from enhancements wont do squat really.

drop Spring Attack. you wont have any trouble hitting while moving. its easier to gear up for Dodge 100% than to invest precious feats to acquire a small amount of Dodge for situational purposes.

not a fan of weapon bond because sometimes you will need to switch weapons losing the stack and I always seem to easily build up the stack and not use it more than I can get rid of it. some players like it some don't.

overall not a bad build but needs some tweaking.

also, I like to put points in spot. you can see hidden creatures.

I see where ya'll are coming from, so allow me to explain a little bit of my reasoning behind the feats selections. You see, since a barbarian can only wear light or medium armor anyways, he might as well take advantage of the high max dexterity bonus from them to receive a good amount of Dodge, which can be obtained from Mobility and Spring Attack. As well, Spring Attack allows you to attack while moving, which is a HUGE boost to your DPS in high risk situations. As for Great Cleave, do ya'll believe that Supreme Cleave really can't do the same that Great Cleave can? And is Stunning Blow really worth replacing either Mobility or Spring Attack with?

EDIT: The Heal skill is for more Positive points for if you ever want to self heal with caccoon, and this build is really supposed to end at around level 20-21. I could however see why you'd want to exchange Mobility with Great Cleave when going for pure damage, but do know that 2% dodge is 2% dodge! And two higher allowed dodge in total, so it's hard to give that up, but I can see why you'd want more damage for less survivability. Jump, Swim, and Tumble are total dump skills, so you could throw those into anything, even intimidate and spot if you so wanted. Thanks for looking at the build everyone! Any other suggestions?

Dude. Shhhh. Sh. Shhhh.

Great Cleave, Stunning Blow. Do this, play to 28, and then come back and review this thread.

Don't break your barb. Just do it.

ive always been confused with MDB. I just know I like my barbs to wear leather armor.

like I said, you wont have trouble attacking while moving as long as you are in range and aren't unlucky rolling 1's. its not like the old days when AC used to matter.

SC can do the same as GC, yes, but spamming cleaves deals a ton of DPS in the middle of mobs. you are hitting almost instantaneously +2 (W) damage each cleave. that's a lot of damage with a heavy hitting barbarian.

SB is definitely better than Mobility and Spring Attack. a stunned mob that sits there getting beat on for 6 seconds taking extra damage while stunned is way better.

you aren't taking any feats to boost Coccoon and you need spell points to use it.

I can see the argument for the extra dodge while moving around and tumbling, but I wouldn't waste the feat slots. kinda hard to kill mobs when tumbling for that extra 2% dodge.

the more damage you cause, the quicker mobs die and the less you need to worry about dodging blows and healing up. since you are focused on heroics more than epics, its not hard to build a dumb dumb dps barbarian that can kill mobs in just 2-3 swings on average.

Removed the Fighter Past Life Feat for Great Cleave. Does anyone have any other suggestions when it comes to feats?

for heroics a paralysing weapon will give you far more survivability than 2% dodge will, especially when you let rip with the cleaves and the proc chance with glancing blows. it won't slow your DPS down too much either as the vast bulk of that comes from the barbarian not the weapon.

supreme cleave is indeed good, but when you add it to great cleave and cleave a large portion of your attacks will be AoE as you keep them all on cooldown. this can tear through a pack of mobs like you wouldn't believe!

getting to lvl20 on a raging barbarian is nice and easy, a hireling will cover most healing requirements and CSW pots can help patch up between fights. smart positioning (i assume you have this skill due to your interest in maintaining mobility) and working the aggro and mobs to your advantage will mitigate a lot of the barbarians short fallings.

the penalties for moving whilst attacking are now trivial. i can't remember the last time i had spring attack on a melee, certainly way before the mechanics changed for armour class. i also maintain high mobility when i'm on my glass cannons, so believe me running about like a nutter spamming cleaves works just fine without spring attack :). so don't worry about losing your fighters accuracy, you will still have more than enough. i remember first moving away from the fighter and being worried about accuracy. i just capped my rogue this weekend and he has DEX as a secondary stat (main is INT) and everytime he whips his dagger out he will use it on the move for a chance to assassinate 2 mobs. so if my 3/4 BaB rogue with 30 DEX can hit well enough on the move your raging barbarian will be just fine. you'll also be surprised with how much raw STR you have when you stack all the rages up, this is how the barbarian is balanced vs the fighter.

barbs are a simple beast, with power attack, the cleave line, the THF line and imp crit, you really can't go wrong. sure you can weigh up the options for the last few feats. toughness is less of a boon now, precision and improved sunder are interesting due to the fort bypass and stunning blow gives a minimum of 50% boost to DPS as well as good CC. speaking of extra dmg vs helpless mobs, grab ear smash from the occult tree, the sleep effect lasts far longer than you'd expect and that gives the 50% bonus to DPS too. sleep is supposed to be removed when the mob is hit, just like daze. however there is a long wakeup time while the mob is still taking the extra helpless damage.

as a fighter you will already know when to hold back and when to go all out, the barbarian will further expand on this as when the barb goes all out if gets messy. the 2-3 swings to down a mob mentioned earlier is real, obviously not in every quest but it is certainly common on your trip to lvl20 and not just limited to the harbour.
