Here's a build I've been working on:

Race:
Warforged

Abilities:
8 STR, 8 DEX, 20 CON, 18 INT, 6 WIS, 6 CHA
All increases to INT

Levels:
1, 11: Rogue
3, 4: FvS
Rest: Wizard

Skills:
Level 1: Max Balance, Disable Device, Hide, Jump, Move Silently, Open Lock, Search, Spot, Tumble, UMD, Concentration, and Spellcraft
After that, not sure

Feats:
Level 1: Insightful Reflexes
Level 2 Wizard: Maximize Spell
Level 3: Free, probably going to use a flavor feat here unless I'm missing a must-have
Level 3 FvS: Follower of the Lord of Blades
Level 6: Empower Spell
Level 8 Wizard: Mental Toughness
Level 9: Improved Mental Toughness
Level 12: Extend Spell
Level 14 Wizard: Enlarge Spell
Level 15: Toughness
Level 18: Dodge
Level 19 Wizard: Quicken Spell
Level 21: Epic Mental Toughness
Level 24: Epic Toughness
Level 26 Epic: Epic Skill Focus (Spellcraft)
Level 27: Epic Reflexes
Level 28 Epic: Epic Spellpower (Force)

FvS spells:
Cure Light Wounds (for quests where I have to babysit NPCs)
Protection From Evil
Lesser Restoration

Enhancements:
Warforged:
Improved Fortification x3
CON I and II
Inscribed Armor x1

Angel of Vengeance:
Font of Power, Scourge x3, Just Reward x3, Smiting x2

Archmage:
Evocation I-IV, Energy of the Scholar x3, Spell Critical I-IV, Improved Empower x3, INT I and II

Pale Master:
Dark Reaping, first 3 shrouds, Bone Armor, whole Skeletal Knight line, INT I and II, 4 more points on anything in Tier 1-4 (SLAs?) , Improved Shrouding

1 point free

Epic Destiny:
Shiradi Champion
Healing Spring x3
Illusion of Well-Being x3
Prism
Fey Spring x3
Fey Form x3
Rainbow
Double Rainbow
Nerve Venom x3
Audience with the Queen

Twists:
Not sure

Am I on the right track to a viable build here?

I assume you want something like this: https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/425312-Just-Shiradi-The-U19-shiradi-standard-%2816-wizard-2-favored-soul-2-monk%29

It will work. WF does it better (hard to beat Quicken Reconstruct when in big trouble). But Pale Master version is also not bad. Monk2 does it better tho. Better saves, better survivability.

For leveling its best to play as that Pale Trapper. Tipical Wizard/Rogue hybrid. Caster that can do traps, PM version. Take FvS near the end. Better to take FvS as last 2 levels. That FvS levels are there for temp SP for Shiradi.

Don't bother with that AM arcane bolt. Not good. PM version is better. AM version has "reflex save for half" or better to say "evasion for zero". PM version has fort save (so no pesky evasion) and costs less mana.

I was actually going for a hybrid of the two builds you linked. I want trap skills and the basically-free MM/CM/FM from Just Reward in the same build. Regarding Arcane Bolt, I only took it because I needed to spend more points somewhere to unlock the next tier. Is there something better I can take in that tree instead?

No, not really. You want SLAs, spell critical, and more spell points. Maybe traditional caster if you'll run around with staff or orb?

About metamagic feats:
- Empower, Maximize for damage
- Extend because Dath Aura has a very short duration
- Quicken so you cast SLAs and you heals faster
- Enlarge for max MM range

Edit: about enhancements. Efficient metamagic (lower cost of metamagic feats). You don't cast just SLA spells.

It is viable, I disagree with the post that says to take FVS late.

For FvS levels I'd wait atleast until I can take Wraith PM form. I don't like Zombie and Vampire takes to much light damage.

I've made some changes to the build based on this feedback. I notice I still have a lot of free feat slots. Are there any other "must-have" feats, or is there room for "flavor" like Augment Summoning?

Toughness, Epic Toughness, Epic Mental Toughness, Dodge. Read CDR's post on the u19 just shiradi for a fantastic breakdown of the basics even if you don't go for the 2 monk lvls.

I still disagree with delaying FVS. Yeah, all the cool kids are in wraith form... but what do you gain/lose? Displacement is enough for good melee defense up till level 16 when you can have it all. You aren't a DC caster, so the zombie penalty isnt much of a drawback. Your two biggest concerns are sustainable damage output (small mana pool) and reflex saves/evasion. The FVS and Rogue splash both help your reflex save, and the FVS lets you do more damage longer. Load up fire and force spells and you have something for just about anything.
