Meh, bit of a rant, but more of a, "help me to understand".
Reading through Legendary Dreadnought and, although I love the ED anyhow, I don't seem to understand a few of the key abilities.
Pulverizer, Tier 5, increases the critical threat range of bludgeoning weapons, except one of the most used bludgeoning weapons- handwraps. Not sure why the hit on wraps, I mean, sure wraps are nice but +1 to the critical threat range would be appreciated. Also - and this is what kinda turned my face a little red - Combat Brute, Tier 5 Autogranted, gives 50% bonus damage to helpless opponents and +1[W] damage while any boost is active. This is a very nice boost, but again: doesn't effect handwraps. I don't see why not, I mean, I guess it shouldn't effect anyone using any item.
Maybe I'm wrong here but, I don't see why such a setback for handwrap users. There are plenty of very powerful people using swords and axes reaping the full benefit of these abilities, but those using wraps are a little left behind. Was there a specific reason for this? Or did the coder of Legendary Dreadnought just get angry because monks kept piking all those leet quests >.>

Have you ever played your monk in LD maxed out....they don't need any help.....a blitzing monk is scary.

Handwraps are tricky to program.
There's a lot of stuff that doesn't work with handwraps because it was difficult for the programmers to get it to work. Eg: Greensteel, ninja stuff (dex, poison, etc).
I assume the LD no-handwrap stuff has the same reason.

the +1[w] does not work but the 50% dmg does.

Geoff's note is correct. Handwraps are special in that they aren't weapons. When a Monk is unarmed, the game sees the Monk themselves as the weapon, and damage is coded through the character in unarmed mode, not what they wield as with other classes. To see this, compare a typical weapon to a set of handwraps. You'll find that the usual weapon damage information isn't on handwraps.
While I think the issue of missing Green Steel handwraps is a matter of not bothering to add them in nowadays (given Cannith Crafting and challenge-related crafting where such handwraps exist), there's still the special way that unarmed fighting damage is calculated.
That said, a Monk with LD, despite the restrictions on unarmed damage, is a nastier fighter. Their ability to quickly and rapidly stun combined with improved DCs and boosts to damage, attack and speed makes them very powerful. Perhaps the devs feel that handwrap-enabled weapon damage in LD would be greatly overpowered. If so, I'd agree. My tanker Monk in Master's Blitz mode could strike like a raged barbarian with insane critical hits and overall damage, without having access to the weapon boosts in that destiny.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and guess that anyone wielding a sword or an axe isn't reaping the full benefit of Pulverizer.

going on a limb? pretty dangerous here....
headmans chop does the same for axes as pulveriser for hamers/maul
both are meant to level the playingfield between swords and mauls/hammers/axes
more info here: ddo wiki (http://ddowiki.com/page/Legendary_Dreadnought)
headmans chop works great on the cleaver, incedently, it has "limbchopper"as one of is propperties XD

hey Clem Theleb here maybe its to balance out the fact that most grandmaster abilities cant be used by most classes. Just a thought. See u at the lobster currently serving out a seven day suspension for some reason. One of the game masters doesn't like me it appears.

the +1[w] does not work but the 50% dmg does.
Is this confirmed? Not having a link for background scares me, and I can't do any personal testing because I just TRed my blitzer.

Pulverizer is specific towards bludgeoning weapons. Swords and axes are not bludgeoning. Wraps, however, are.

Only confirmation is from my personal experience testing on a helpless target (dummy i think) and activating a action boost. Seams to work and I have been playing it as if it has been working.
