I have seen a lot of people running around as iconics without a class level in their base class, how does one accomplish said feat?

LR +1 (or better) allows you to change your first class with iconics.

Since the new reincarnation system places a free +0 LR heart in your TR cache, it would certainly be nice to have it put a +1 LR heart in instead when you reincarnate into an Iconic.

Just sayin'.
