Can you be "double stances"?

Sup guys!
Title says it all: lots of build are split fighter/ monk, pally/ monk and whatnut...
I would love to know if you can be in 2 stances at once? like: sacred defender (paladin) and earth stance (monk)

It depends on the stances.
Sacred defender and earth stance, yes.
Power attack and precision, no.

Seems to me there are a lot of stances that can be activated at the same time, but there are also ones that cannot.

I have yet to figure out a pattern to be able to predict ahead of time, without trying them out.
