Is it to much to expect that I don't feel the game should DC me sometimes 6 times in a row or that I cannot log on for 20 minutes while the system struggles to accept me? Should not I be able to just load this darn game - hit my user name and password and get the H in??? is that so unreasonable? is it, really that unreasonable??? why does my bank, cnn, drudge, usatoday, other games, my work... why can I get in there but here it's a total fail? am I or my system that lame??? am I the only one fed-up? only me??? Lord, give me strength.... after the reload last night that took a long time - the fact it continues has broken me - at least for today - sorry for any grammer etc errors... ... ugh...

12-11-13 update - after the latest update (from turbine) and a total reload ( for the 3rd time) the system seems way better. only a few logging errors and ive not dc-ed in the last few days.... I told my family before my last reload this would be the last time I try to make the game work or I was done - My son was worried it would not work... My wife was worried it would... :) -- so for now problemo solved....

Its something the devs know. When you log in for the first time the game crash.
You have to wait to the game kick you and re log in to safe enter =(

Thats happening in about 98% of the times I try to log in.

Or search the forums for the ddo launcher. It's safe, I've been using it for months (and scanned it with everyone I have) and it fixed the problem completely. One login every time is all it takes as long as I use the launcher instead of the ddo shortcut.

I didn't understand that you had a problem with loading the game, but here it is, just in case:

If you have authentication problems, maybe some of your network settings are not set properly.

I always have this problem only on my first log in after starting my computer from a full shutdown. My workaround has been to only put computer to sleep instead of a full shutdown. I can log in on the first try every time this way. It's an alternative to the launcher.

I think it would be a great idea for Turbine to buy it from the guy that created it. Then they could apply it to their own launcher so they don't look like amateurs. Even better, hire the guy and put him on the permanent staff. Not only did he fix a problem, but he at least noted the fact that the problem exists, which is often beyond the capabilities of Turbine to handle. At minimum, offer the guy a bundle of TP and free stuff for stepping up to help the community.

I did use to crash entering the Sands, but that was a couple of computers back. And for the last year, logging in was fairly slow, a good minute or so.

But I recently upgraded to a SSD, re-installed my OS, and DDO again, and now I log in and I'm able to move around in about 10 seconds. No problems.

I've had no problems on my vista ****-box of a laptop for years. My wife went and bought a brand new laptop with windows 8 and now has this same double log in issue that seems to be going around. I'm fairly certain it has nothing to do with how new or old your computer is. From what I can tell it seems to randomly strike certain computer setups whether they are new or old and doesn't necessarily descriminate based on your operating system. I'm glad it doesn't effect you, but it's a real problem for many people and there is a workaround program out there, which shows that there is something Turbine can do on their end to mitigate the issue, yet they seem unable or unwilling to officially do so.
