Save CiTW: Add new weapons or items

While I do appreciate that everyone in the game now has a CiTW item, that generosity has sort of killed off interest in running CitW on a regular basis. I would like to see a reason to run it more again and that reason is as simple as new loot. All the developers have to do is add a whole new slew of raid quality loot or items and people will want to run the raid.

There was/is an easy solution to this, add Heroic comms so you were guaranteed at least a couple per run, a la FOT. People still need 'em to upgrade the loot they got free.

Sure they could add Vcomms to it too..haha..who am I kidding, they won't do that.

Although I think some new loot would be unterestung as well. No new weapons, but maybe some upgraded trinkets with new set bonus?
Or perhaps an upgrade to the greenscale stuff, a new ml 28 version that is worth wearing.

Expanding on that Trinket idea: What if we were able to upgrade the Trinket and then infuse it to the Weapon so that the weapon was always providing the conflux set (a newer and more relevant version of conflux)? It would free up the Trinket slot and give us a goal to grind for. Honestly, I would just be happy to see any idea implemented to save the raid.

Nope, they dont need anymore geroic commendations, Turbine took care of that with this "copy item" feature ;) Sad but true, i havent seen too many FoTs since the introtuction of said feature.

But in general, yes anything to make CITW (and FOT to some extend) interesting in terms of loot again is welcome

Yea that didn't help for sure. I think a vast majority didn't dupe, but the ones that did and got away with it aren't raiding which makes PUG group tough to fill. I see channel groups a couple times a week, but almost no LFM's.

Always the tone of surprise. I only have good ideas.
But I would really love to be able to upgrade my redscales.

There's better raids to save... By making them available at Epic Levels.

A truly good raid will be run even for a variety of reasons.

Loot (FoT, CitW and VoN are pretty much it)
Tokens/Coms (FoT is best for heroic coms)
A bta or unbound reason to continue running it after you have your loot (Shroud and ToD score here. FoT and CitW with btc rewards score low here.)
XP (most raids are considered low xp or pointless xp if you're running them overlevel)
Fun (subjective)
Challenge (subjective)
Ease of Completion (Reaver and DQ are probably top here)
Lack of Frustration (CitW and Titan score low points here. babysitting and instant fail mechanisms can be very frustrating)

A great raid will hit as many of these points as possible to keep people coming back again and again. CitW was failed from the beginning due to a lack of understanding player desires by the devs in charge of the raid. As soon as "escort" was mentioned, that pretty much nailed the coffin shut. In my opinion, this raid doesn't need saving. It needs replacing. We have 2 or 3 raids coming this year so maybe we can forget about this mistake of a raid. If I were to score CitW on a 1 to 10 scale based on my criteria I'd give it something like this

Loot: 10 (however, boxes have made this less important)
Coms: 3 (is has them, but at such a low rate, you don't run it just for the expectation of a com)
BtA Component: 0 (Heroic Coms could have been bta to make this more accessible to alt toons)
XP: 5 (it has reasonable xp, but xp/min is horrible)
Fun: 3 (my personal opinion. anything with babysitting scores no higher than a 5 ever)
Challenge: 7 (EE provides a reasonable challenge still. EH can be hard in a poor pug)
Ease of Completion: 8 (a good group should have no issue on EN)
Lack of Frustration: 2 (escort missions involve someone following the npc noob.)

Average: 4.75/10

This is just my personal rating. Others may feel differently.

I did not dupe. I need Comm's but I can see how people with 5k Comm's don't need to raid anymore. Kind of sad in hindsight that could be another reason for the extreme drop off in raids

I suggest CitW but this could easily apply to FoT also.
