Elminster Won't Talk ; Quest Line Won't Advance

None of my characters are able to talk to Elminster in Eveningstar Square and advance the quest line ; and he doesn't show up by the tree next the purple dragon knights keep. This is a frustating error ... how do I get around it ?

I think this is a pretty serious error and massive programming blunder. I've just returned to the game after not playing for two years and within days find a bug like this, it is not very encouraging or inspiring and there are other games for me to spend money.

Did you complete beyond the rift? After that quest he should appear a bit south of the well to give you the end reward for beyond the rift, he only appears next to the demonweb questgivers after you've completed that quest chain which you are apparently unable to do.

You shouldnt need to talk to eliminster at all to advance a chain, he's merely at his spot south of the well to pick up the end reward for beyond the rift. The eveningstar chain should already be able to be taking as long as your in eveningstar and are an appropiate level (20).

if your trying to flag for the raid, you need to do the 3 chains. the eveningstar chain (impossible demands, lost thread, unquite graves, and battle of eveningstar) needs to be completed, then the sschin chain (rusted blades, broken chains, death undone, portal opens) and then demon web (triall by fury, deal and demon, reclaiming the rift) only then will he show up by the demonweb chain to talk to you there to pick up the raid.

this is confusing, first time I completed beyond the rift I couldn't find this Elminster, next time I come I talk to him once and then quest line says "Learn about the current situation from Elminster (more...)" but Elminster is not talking anymore, what am I supposed to do?
