Tried now 2 ties on Elite at level, both times evry mission objective completes, except the: enter the library of threnal. dosnt matter that im standing in the middle of it, and coyle and his 2 guards right next to me. On the second try i thought, maybe dont start killing the boss from afar and outside of lib, si i deliberately waited for coyle to move inside of lib and start attacking teh boss. then i did drag the boss away and even further inside, hoping for coyle to follow.and still, doesnt complete.

good job turbine, but well, u never disappoint us in what we expect from u. and thats exactly that. break thing with each update/patch or whatever.

I completed this quest twice the last weekend, 30 November 2013 (not that I like the quest, but I was helping a friend).Once on elite at level, once on normal at level 14 for chain completion.No problems whatsoever.Note that the mission objective will only update if Coyle says "that's it, library's door unlocked" or something to that regard. This again requires that you properly parked him in front of the door before - i.o.w. let the game park him, don't do it (again) manually afterwards.Or could be that you just lucked out that had 2 bugged instances, but the quest itself works.

Only 2 things I see and not sure they really matter, you would know more then I,

1) Looks like your ready to level ?

2 ) Appears that you are in wolf form, maybe try being in Human form when talking to and/or finishing some or all quests.

Good observations, thanks - so I leveled, and did the entire quest in human form: same result.

Next try I need to wait a bit (still irritated) but maybe this is a known issue. From the Wiki: "WARNING: It is possible to kill Basthuul from a distance before the objective appears. It is then impossible to finish the quest. Get close enough to get the objective before killing it"

...I've been unloading on that thing with everything I've got as soon as I get close enough.

Also, I've been putting my pet and hire exclusively on Coyle - so the exact order they all enter is hard to tell.

in the interest of being scientific I'll keep the hire & pet where they are, and look for the objective to appear.

Often i have to ask him to follow me again when we get to the door before he realizes where he is.

Did it recently without any problems, so its not completely broken at least.I ran it yesterday without issue. But I always sit there and stew with impatience waiting for dialogue triggers to run before I do stuff. Not just here, but in most quests.

For example: A level 8 character can obtain up to 399,999XP (1 point less than the amount necessary for the character to attain level 10). Some players use this process (called “Banking”) to extend the time that certain quests provide XP.

I always do this, it makes going 18-20 much easier because you already have enough for lvl 19 when you take lvl 18 and can still do lvl 16 quests for elite bravery bonus

now one thing don't forget that isn't always true about the xp. monster manual and daily dice will send you over. so you need to be paying attention.
