greetings all,

tried finding this using the wiki etc but the information ive read seems
to be incomplete and unsure.

ive just started doing epic levels and when using the lfm im unsure what level range
to use to still gain full xp for epic quests, ive read somewhere that level 26
things change but im not sure how.

if someone could give me a guide or link to one ill be most thankful.

your friend sil :)

I've grouped with level 28's when I was level 20. Got full XP from the quest. Bravery bonus however... no.

what your looking for is under http://ddowiki.com/page/Experience_points, under Epic overlevel penalty. it changed back in u14p2.

Epic, powerleveling penalty doesnt apply (thus 20-30 can all group together) and 'level of quest vs level of highest character in quest' still applies with a slight variation. Players in CR 20 quests will have the spread between the quest CR and the max player level reduced by 1. In CR 21+ quests, the spread will be reduced by two. This will prevent over-level penalties caused by level 25 players running CR 20-23 quests.

Quest CR 20 the gap is +1 (thus 20-25 get full exp, 26 is -75%. 27 is -99%, and 28-30 is -100%) Quest CR 21+ the gap is +2 (thus 20-27 will get full exp, 28 will get -75%, 29 will be -99%, and 30 -100%), that means for quest CR 22 (20-28 will get full exp, 29 will be -75%, and 30 will be -99%) at quest CR 24 (20-30 should recieve full exp)

your friend sil :)One thing I can absolutely confirm is that 28s get full XP (no overlevel penalty) running EH VON3. That's a modified quest level of 23: 22 base level, 23 on hard. You won't get bravery with a 28 in the group, though.

This is correct but in a simpler form if you are lvl 22 plus and have a lvl 28 in your group you will suffer no penalty but a lvl 21 toon with a lvl 28 will incur 75% penalty but none for a lvl 27 in party and therefore a lvl 20 toon with a lvl 28 NO xp, lvl 27 99% penalty and lvl 26 75% penalty

The bottom of this page shows Epic level xp penalties

I haven't re-confirmed it myself since the U19 changes, but prior to that, max level to get Bravery in Epic was base quest level + 4. And so, base quest level + 5 needed to avoid breaking streaks, etc.. That was true for all quest of base level 20 and up, including Dreaming Dark and ToD.

it changed back in u14p2.

And again with U19.
