I think currently the morning star is very weak and hardly viable at all for endgame. The ones from Eveningstar challenges may look nice at first glance, but I think it is still a random combo of a few weak procs and took a heavy punch from the recent level drain nerf.
I am requesting for a viable endgame shuriken in the next update, ideally as a raid loot from the new raid.
Something in my mind is:
Base Damage: 2*2d6
Critical Range: 19*3
A damage ability like holy burst or better
Red Slot
Please provide your thoughts.

Petition: Please make an endgame
I'd be quite happy to see Turbine listen to this truncated version of the petition.
Once we actually do have an endgame, I would also like to see endgame versions of each weapon. They don't all have to be uber. A Light Mace is going to be garbage even if you pile a ton of additional effects onto it. But for someone who really likes light maces, we should have the option.
It's what I liked best about Shroud weapons. If you want something specific, you can make it. You get to choose. More choices = more grind that we don't mind. It's the opposite of the random effects that get stapled to the challenge weapons - how many random-effect challenge weapons do you see people swinging in game? I believe the answer is very close to *none*.
I like the CitW weapons as a start even though I intensely dislike CitW as a raid. But the best raid that Turbine has ever done is the Shroud. Let's see something like that again.

I don't really see any problem with the Morningstar. It works pretty darn well in EE content on my monk thrower.

What about crafting yourself up an Alchemical shuriken?

Use multiple stars. I run epic content with the elite heroic slotted (currently) with the mabar level drain ruby. I have a vampire slayer ruby as well, just in case. There are also posx3 greensteel stars, shadow star (which actually does reasonable damage much to my suprise). Snowstar also works well if you angle to do damage through crits, which can do 150 a pop without sneezing. 25% of the time doing 150 instead of 40 damage is pretty frickin awesome, even if you arent getting bonus damage. Interestingly, the bonus damage from morning star makes pretty much all of the stars about even, due to the increased crit rates of snow and shadowstars.
Please provide your thoughts.
I'm thinking that improved weapon finesse still doesn't work with handwraps.
maybe it's just me, but I would like to see build-breaking bugs get fixed first.

Fortunately the people who make loot are not also bug fixers, so you needn't worry about the false conundrum you've proposed.

EDIT: Ooops. Replied in the wrong thread by mistake.
I quite honestly have nothing to add to this thread, my monks were pretty happy with the shadowfell shuriken after using that lvl 2 one till epic levels lol.

Epic Shroud for 2014/2015 then?

I think if you stray too far away from a shuriken's base damage and crit profile, you end up with a different weapon entirely.
I would be curious to know if shuriken builds can hold their own at endgame or if the people that use them feel buffing is needed. Buffing other than fixing the crit expanding enhancements that currently aren't working, that is.
It should be noted that the Morning Star shuriken has ghostbane on it. Look no further for your uber endgame weapon.

That's not a shuriken, that's a giant buzz saw blade!

Have you tried looking into the cormyrian throwing stars you can get from turning in the eveningstar challenge ings? it's a bit of a lottery, but you can get some very nice effects off them & they have they spellplague effect which can cause an extra projectile with a seperate set of effects.
