A static group I'm in is planning on running this next Monday. Wonder if anyone has a decent guide to help us get through it without having to spend 2 hours in there. Thank you very much in advance for any and all help.

Well, allow me to help...

DDO Wiki always full of fun stuff, though might not be the most helpful, though I think there is a neat map that gives you a bit more perspective on the Pit.

One I personally found useful when I was first learning the Pit. :p Though, it's a bit confusing at some parts.

Something done a little more recently. I haven't really taken the time to look over it myself, but it was featured recently in the Community News not too long ago, I believe.

Then, if videos are more your thing... then this. There are other videos too that you can easily find online by typing in "The Pit DDO" into google. :p It brings up a few different run throughs.

Go to this thread https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/431371-Why-do-people-join-groups-to-solo-quests and make a thread-search for the word Pit. Or maybe just make a new post there. Some people have recently posted about how fast they can complete it. Maybe one of them could help you. It's really a quest where having a real guide inside it with you is a much better option than just reading about it, at least in my opinion. But maybe you're not interested in this option, cause you have a static group, idk... Maybe those videos linked in the above post are good for learning, but i don't have the time to watch them now.

There are two basically two paths in The Pit. They spiral around the two shafts and cross-over between them, but there's only one place to cross from one path to the other. If you write out the rooms as if they were just in two separate columns, all you need to know is whether to go up or down, and if you should cross-over from one to the other, to get from one room to the next.

Now the puzzles are a whole 'nother question. :)

One of the handier maps I ever saved. (Miss ya'll Lessah & Clanky)

the map cdbd3rd linked is the one i used to learn and guide others through the pit. there are faster ways when you know where to jump to take a shortcut but that map will stop you from getting lost for hours on end.

permanent feather fall is very handy in there for the mario parts incase you fall. only 1 needs to make it to the top, so you don't all need mario skills. there are some puzzles so you can set the ones who like that on puzzle duty while the rest of you keep them safe.

resistances are important though is can be hard to keep buffed due to the time you'll spend exploring the place. the map will cut down on the time a lot, but not enough to make buffing easy.

i have a feeling the map has some of the ordering out of place, don't worry about that, your quest objectives will keep you on track and the map will help you get from A to B even if the list is screwy.

If you can find your way to all the correct rooms when you need to to get to them, then the only tricky part about the Pit is the 3rd furnace room.

It can be soloed very easily. I'd suggest watching a Youtube video for that part to figure it out.

There are two ways to do it... the fastest method requires some luck on the first air jet to shoot you all the way to the top. I still don't know if there is a way to guarantee the "higher shoot" or not. But even if you can't get lucky there, the second path is not that much longer.

Just make sure you have a good Jump and take jump potions if you don't have the spell. And a featherfall item.

That's the map I had simplified to something like this:

A. Backup I. Intake
D. Breaker C. Security
G. Bilge Entrance
<crossover>
BEH. Furnace
F. Control

Easier to see if you need to go up or down or cross over from the two paths, and most things are in the furnace path.

Try these pieces of wisdom from Mr Cow:

I learned a lot from his videos once I'd discovered them.

Cow's vid walk-throughs are always a good resource. See also this walk-through thread with lots of screenies and arrows. They also recommend reversing the order of D and E. There is also an editted Lessah/Clanky map with some extra details.
