They've wanted to monetize Heroic True Hearts of Wood (will call them HTH from here on out) and I found a way for them to do it, AND make the playerbase happy with it.
First, you make Heroic TR free for VIP's. This entices certain players to purchase VIP, as there is a tremendous savings over purchasing the hearts individually, and it shows those resistant to VIP how much of a benefit it is.
Second, sell HTH+3 and HTH+7 in the DDO store. These hearts start you at level 3 and 7 respectively after you TR.
Lastly, sell HTH-19, HTH-18, and HTH-17 in the DDO store. These hearts let you Heroic TR earlier, but start you at level 1.
The key reason for the two separate types is that, in talking with players I discovered that some people like the low end gaming experience and others like the upper. A vast majority of players with veteran status II wanted to start at level 7 when they TR'ed while people who casually played with friends tended to want to start at level 1. Catering to both opens up options, and makes these new hearts attractive to a lot of different buyers.
This would leave the current mechanic of attaining HTH untouched, but open up convenience for those who want to speed up their experience if they are willing to spend the money.
