Hello. I've been gearing up for next life, which I plan to be rogue. I was wondering if I should go pure, for the assassin capstone thing, or splash two fighter for kensai, so that I can get khopesh proficency with the heavy blades. Thoughts? Advice?

You still have to take the khopesh feat, kensai heavy blades just allows you to have khopesh as a focus weapon and doesn't grant proficiency.

Personally i'd stay pure for the extra SA dice, but it depends if you need the extra feats or not.

Ah, should have read that better. Many thanks... back to the drawing board :D

You said "next life". How long are you playing post-20?

Lets see... 4-5 hours on weekends, 2-4 on weekdays. (my time frame is usually empty)

Heh - not what I meant.

You said "next life", and often that means it's not an end-life. Will you be TRing once you hit 20, or playing around levels 20-28 much?

Oh. Uhm, I might go mid twenties, depends on whether or not the build works out well

Someone else already covered the proficiency issue but I'd like to add that unless you already have a large stash of nice khopshes an assassin rogue will be better off using daggers or kukris. The tier 5 enhancement gives daggers/kurkris a better crit range and the same crit multiplier as khopeshes.

Yeah I'd say khopesh rogues are a bit outdated now due to knife specialization. On crit effects like radiance or heartseeker definitely make daggers/kukris the better choice. I haven't run any numbers, but I'd guess their dps is at least very close if daggers/kukris aren't ahead.

@OP: I don't know what kind of build you're interested in, but feel free to check out the link in my sig for an EE capable assassin.

Yeah, I'd say daggers/kukris or quarterstaff.

Maybe unless you go heavy fighter and tier5 in kensai. 8 fighter 2 monk 10 rogue (centered in master earth stance), or something like that, is about the only rogue build that would use khopeshes.
