funny thing is..............isn't it physically possible to climb up such wide cracks as that? I see rock climbers and bear grilles using.......chutes they call em? like that to climb up rock faces.........anyway I guess thats not what the quest designers had in mind when they made that quest.

I was surprised it didn't get changed when they first made GH epic.
Has barely changed completion times at all though.

Thats because it takes longer trying to show grp mbrs who have no grasp of jumping how to use it... Fumble fumble...

Even if it did refer to changing things inside quests, to "crucible" is to make something EASIER, not harder.

A crucible is a container that can withstand very high temperatures and is used for metal, glass, and pigment production as well as a number of modern laboratory processes. While crucibles historically were usually made from clay,[1] they can be made from any material that withstands temperatures high enough to melt or otherwise alter its contents.
Soooooo, you both are incorrect.

The poster you responded to was using the DDO colloquialism "to crucible" not the dictionary definition, which you quoted. He is, in context, correct. As correct as you are in every other context but DDO.

Please send us a link of this definition.
This term """to crucible""" isnt even defined on the DDO wiki nor anywhere....

Call it idiom if you wish. Those of us who liked the crucible and thought it should have remained a flagging quest, share a common alternate meaning for the term.
I guess if we have to explain it...
(yes, I know you have been around forever and I'm sure you are just trolling... but you did ask for it! ;) )

Indeed. Same sort of shortcut change. Though the big top was funny as they had to go back and "fix" things so many times until it finally got really fixed.

They might've fixed the shrotcut in Big Top but still every time i'm there one or two people's clients crash like hell, including mine. And it's been supposedly fixed like 2 years ago...

If a quest was "Crucibled" then I imagine that now I have to do a swim part in that quest, similarly dangerous as it is in The Crucible (http://ddowiki.com/page/The_Crucible).

It is no longer a flagging quest but it is part of the saga, which I would argue provides even more of reason for players to run it. Even the evil immoral game-destroying solo players who never run raids have a strong incentive to complete that quest if it is all that stands between them and a saga reward.

So you came to the forum to discuss an exploit.
and based on your statement you were an abuser of said exploit and by advertising it here you give Turbine all the information they should need to ban you with extreme prejudice.

OP, you shouldn't use words when you don't know what they mean.
This is like, the opposite of Crucible.
I fully expect you to make another topic asking if it was Ghostbaned at this rate.

Hmmm?
The following activities are NOT considered to be violations, but tactics ("cheesy" or not), that may or may not be "fixed" in the future.
• Corralling a monster in a corner or other area, as long as the monster remains "conscious" and continues to attempt defense and/or escape.
• Using the environment (not a ladder) to climb to another location that does not result in monsters or quest events becoming broken.
• "Perching" on geometry to get a better ranged shot at a monster, as long as the monster remains responsive.
• "The Hero Method" when it does not involve triggering a bug.
• "Bouncing Agro"
• Distracting responsive monsters so a team member can complete another part of the quest without incident.

I would say if it is fixed than the dev disagrees.
I'm going to say, its about time it was fixed after all these years. So when does certain Vale quests get fixed?

No it's not impossible. It's actually quite common and fairly (depending on the route of course) easy to do. It's called stemming.

"Fixed cheese" =/= "it was an exploit", just that they fixed it, "in the future".
6 years in the future.
Mostly.
It's fine and dandy that they fixed it, but the fix doesn't mean that the OP should be called out for an exploit as per the post I was responding to, let alone banned. Have their head examined by someone with a lot of letters after their name for querying the removal of the cheese, yes, but not banned.

Nice to know the name of the action they are taking. Learn something new....
Do you have one of people jumping into/onto something like that and then jumping again to the top?

The jumping is mostly for swimming events, you know. Jumping along the surface of the water helps you move faster when there's a strong current, or if you're just a slow swimmer.
Yes, parkour.

Both cheat spots are fixed. And no, glitching through (invisible) barriers was not WAI. While other adventure based games may allow climbing they have according climb animation but in DDO climb is not even on the skill list and thus the *climbing* of those spots was cheating/exploiting, whatever you call it.
The whole reason of mazes is that you cannot eat/hack through/climb on top of its walls. But of course that is, what everybody does. So the designers give you the railroad dungeon and think that is great and fun..... Enter The Kobold comes to mind.

I did 3 runs yesterday eH eH eN. No problems encountered, used the old jump technique (not cheat, if you are not precise with the jumps, you can end stuck in a wrong room). Fun quest.

We did a run yesterday. the spot where the pilar is and you jump till you get to the roof now cannot be done.
Also, they fixed the mobs that couldn't go through CLOSED doors. Now that caster for opt chest can go through the closed door if threatened :D. And the minotaurs that cast command now ignore protection from evil (as usual) and can also cast it through closed doors. :)

When crucible was removed as part of Tor flagging, it was the "ghostbane" of U17. You've heard of the ghostbane meme, yes? To "Crucible" something is another DDO meme.
I assumed you were trolling because you have thousands of posts, so I would expect you to have encountered all the major DDO forum memes. Also, you posted the least applicable definition you could have, so it seemed to be intentionally missing the point. (You'd think you would have chosen the definition that, you know, applies to the actual quest: "Proving Ground." But you went with "Container where you melt stuff" instead. How to interpret that in any way other than a troll?)
