View Full Version : Arcane Archer Master of Imbuement BUGGED

This top core ability from the arcane archer enhancement tree is badly bugged.
What is suppossed to happen is this:
With a bow equipped, Click on a primary arrow imbuement: Ex. Flame arrows.
Click on a different arrow imbuement: Ex. Paralyzing arrows.
Both imbuements will remain active for 30 seconds.
After 30 seconds, only the second imbuement will be active. (paralysizing arrows)
And here is what really happens:
Click on a primary arrow imbuement. Ex. Flame arrows.
Wait ANY amount of time, less then 30 secs, more then 30 secs, 2 mins, etc.
Switch weapons, even to another bow.
After 30 secs, your imbuement will be removed. even if you have a bow equipped.
Now, another 30 sec timer starts, and you have a choice: Switch to a bow within this second hidden 30 seconds timer, and receive your imbuement automatically returned, BUT REMOVED AGAIN when the second hidden 30 seconds is up, OR-
wait this second 30 seconds out, then switch to a bow and enjoy the return and lasting of your imbuement.
It appears that with master of imbuement selected, switching weapons overides and restarts the 30 second countdown until primary imbuement removal.
However the game gets confused, and believes that whenever you SWITCH WEAPONS AND SWITCH BACK TO BOW AGAIN, or, SWITCH BETWEEN BOWS that you have activated a secondary imbuement.
The solution appears to be: Ignore weapon changes.
Currently, everytime you switch from bow to melee, your arrow imbuements are supressed from your char, then reapplied when you re-equipped a bow. Just make it so that the imbuement are never supressed.
TL;DR AA master of imbuement incorrectly triggers a 30 sec imbuement removal on weapon switching imbuement supression. (say that three times fast)

In fact, I think it triggers the 30 sec even without the switching? But make sure to test in a non-public area. Just go in a quest, imbue and wait 30 sec. There's been a detailed thread on mechanics of the bug in the technical forum, I believe.
I've bug reported this multiple times. I've also tried to post threads like yours. This has been bugged since U19 and not even acknowledged yet, AFAIK. So I suggest rerolling to DWS or swapping a to a game where major game-breaking bugs aren't allowed to last this long.

This bug and the human sword and board bug have really been annoying, hopefully someone will respond.

Makes me very glad my main Arcane Archer is splashed (Ranger 18/ Bard 2) so I need not worry about this headache.

What is human sword and board bug?

I'm just going to chime in because I took my AA out for a spin yesterday and noticed something that may be related.
She was running around in some gianthold walkups and I had a blast paralyzing everything. However, since u20 I noticed that about every 30s my paralyze enhancement would drop off from the buff bar, and it looks like it coincided with the moonbow enhancement kicking in.
Very annoying. The workaround I used was to swap to another bow or weapon set and back again, and then paralyze was re-applied. Good for another 30s lol
This did not occur when I used the flaming arrow imbue. Not sure about other imbues, I would need to test that, but I reset and re-spec'd out of moonbow. But something is up since u20.
I didn't bug report it yet, and probably won't, unless anyone else chimes in to say that they experience something similar. So speak up plz :)
My experience and 2cp.

edited to add: Mind you paralyze didn't drop for me with moonbow in public areas. It only seemed to occur in quest.

Here's the most detailed write-up of the bug I've seen so far: https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/422949-Arcane-Archer-Imbue-Stances-Bugged
@JamnJD: not sure if it's changed after U20, but the bug didn't use to have anything to do with Moonbow, but rather with the AA capstone.

i have posted on this... submitted tickets, (no reply)... i gave up.
Im a ranger with a pinion. i broke down all my other green steel weapons since i can't use them, e even for buffs without messing up my paralyzing arrows. Sometimes relogging re stabilizes it, but it is a pain to do mid quest.... :(

Yeah, I checked the link and it's a thread that I've seen before. I may have had a different issue.
All I can tell you is that I was watching the screen and buff bar. Didn't look at any logs. As soon as moonbow scrolled by, my paralyze disappeared from the buff bar and stopped working. Swapping weapons would bring paralyze function and icon back. 30s later, moonbow would scroll and paralyze would go away again.
I respec'd her out of moonbow. Took her out for more test driving tonight and ran the first three morningstar flagging quests with paralyze and no issues.
