This is a public morals announcement. If you, on any character, did receive a Raider's Box for which you know you do not qualify, please immediately mail said box to your nearest DM or simply destroy it.

As we know, your very moral fiber and possible turpitude are at stake if you think to keep such ill-gotten gains. You know it is too good to be true and use of those pixels will stunt your moral game development with too many negative levels. So, save your soul, and destroy the box. Destroy it!

Weeping for future generations will reverberate through the forum threads for all eternity if you do not return the box to Turbine. Not to mention the the thrashing of beards from certain forum personalities should you choose to retain your Raider's Box. Yes, it may be Turbine's fault for this grievous error - ah - but you dear reader of this thread - you know better. Save our society and yourself. Return the box or destroy it. The consequences of not doing so are just too terrible to contemplate. In fact, even if you think you deserve the Raider's Box, or if you do deserve it - destroy it anway! Destroy it! Save humankind.

Saving Throw Bonus:
+Yes, this is meant in jest

Heh.

I certainly hope some of the more vociferous people who made it clear that exploiters should be literally banned from the internet FOREVER (you know who you are, d'Reporter) take this advice to heart and heed your moral warning.

I know in the past hour, many upon thousands have done the right thing and destroyed their Raider's Boxes. Know that all of moral DDO support you in this endeavor. In an effort to let others live in the light of your example, post here with your name and Silver Flame oath of having destroyed the evil Box. Yes, the list will no doubt be long, but every name shall be a shining example for the Realm of DDO and beacon to MMOs everywhere!

I destroyed a lot of boxes that were not qualified for. Most of them belonged to people who had TR'ed after U19...

Turbine destroyed about 300k of my XP with their new curve. I should have been well into 21 but they put me at 20. I think that is more than enough destruction. Keep your boxes.

Ah, child. The gods send you a message and you scoff. Clearly you are are being punished for xp you had not earned - likely due to exploitation or window farming. Instead of turning to anger, turn your inner eye to your core and know the enemy is thine self! Repent! Free you mind of the lost xp; simply rejoice at the opportunity to adventure even more in the 'proper' manner the gods have laid for you. http://www.themacguild.com/forums/images/smilies/Expressive/pray.gif

They already said xp over the new cap wouldn't be converted into epic. You act like this is a surprise.

Yes, I know, Turbine is trying to "do the right thing" and give everyone a 2nd Raider's Box. But, as we all know, it would be morally reprehensible for any of us to accept a second box.

Now, brothers and sisters, I must confess, I , I, how do I say this? I opened an unearned Raider's Box yesterday. I feel dirty. I know better. The temptation was very great. I now truly know what we all face. This insidious evil.

It is now more important than ever that we stand together, as a community, and destroy the Raider Box when it arrives in the next patch. Destroy it! Let us show the MMO universe the strength of our willinginess to simply forgive Turbine for their error, return their goods, and leave with joy in our hearts at having acted as all good MMO citizens should.

Of course, to eat this bacon and pancake combo, you will still need to destroy the box.

So you're saying I shouldn't keep the Raider's Box that my bank toons received?

Like I was going to level up to 23, just so I could show off my ill-gotten weapon... then of course I'd have to get the 375 PDK favor & Comms to upgrade it too, right?

In reality I'd probably have to just destroy it anyway... due to lack of storage space.

Yes, my young Jedi.

Resist the dark side! Enjoy the task of the grind. Expecting more mistakes from Turbine to get favor and commendations is the wrong attitude to upgrade such ill obtained loot. Free yourself of the guilt and stress - better to destroy the box at the outset.

In reality I'd probably have to just destroy it anyway... due to lack of storage space.

Ah, grasshopper, I have a simple ready here. Open wallet and obtain a credit card. Buy Turibine Points. Buy a character slot - and 'walla' instant storage.

Now, I know we all struggle with our moral compasses from time to time.

Out of the box?
In the box?
Chase the box?
Loot the box?

But, I know some of you may be sorely tempted to create characters simply to receive the upcoming free loot for 'someday.' Resist I tell you - this is wrong and you know it. Free yourself from the chains of temptation and sin.

Could I put the weapon of choice on the Shard Exchange so I can move a BtC item from one character another... be good selling point for buying Astral Shards. I'd think?
