Sneak Attack broken?

My pure rogue has no bonus to damage when sneaking. Have anyone else noticed this?

It's not damage when sneaking - it's damage when sneak attacking.

This can come either when you first successfully sneak up on the enemy, when the enemy is focused on another opponent, or through myriad abilities/items that make the enemy sneak attack vulnerable for a set period of time (examples include Bluff skill, Expose Weakness attack from Ranger Deepwood Sniper core abilities, and Improved Deception weapons/items).

It sounds like you're attempting to sneak up on the enemy and attack them. This can be tricky and is a good skill to learn for when you get to the point you have the Assassinate ability. You'll need things to boost your dex ability, things to boost your hide/move silently skill, and you'll want to approach from out of the enemy's line of sight and try to attack before you 'bump into them'. You'll know you've succeeded if your first attack gives you sneak attack numbers. That said, if you're solo once you get that first sneak attack in the rest will not have sneak attack damage unless you use one of the many abilities (like those I mentioned earlier) that make enemies vulnerable to sneak attacks.

You are right, I was not clear explaining. When sneaking the only thing I do is assasinate, and that is working great. It's when I am sneak attacking, there's no difference to my damage numbers, having aggro or not.
Just capped so didn't test yet with epic levels and ED. But I've been running since level 13 with improved deception on, and my sneak attack damage maxed, and I can tell every time they the numbers stay the same.

It doesn't get added to your base damage. It's an additional number so you will see something like 33 + 45+ 3 + 4 depending on what damage effects you have. One of those extra numbers (for me it's always been the second one) will be your sneak attack damage.

Also, I can't say for certain but I *think* the sneak damage is always the second number. At least it's seemed that way for me with a variety of weapons on my assassin.

i can confirm this now, I probably missed it all this time!! D=

Now at level 22 with shadowdancer ED, when sneak attacking i'm doing an extra 90-120 pts of damage. It is indeed the 2nd number. Thanks!
