Player returning with questions!

#1 - Hello, I have been gone for a year or more now and I really feel overwhelmed once again. I am so lost and I don't know where I should start now?

#2 - I am wondering which server has the best grouping and guilds for me? My play times are normally in the morning about 9am EST to 12pm est (lunch) then possibly until 5pm est or later. I am currently on ghallanda but willing to move if possible.

#3 I will go check, but are you able to transfer servers? I don't remember?

Any info about what things are important now would be nice!

Do people still do the green steel raids or is that junk now? My main is a one time TR warforged wizard (currently level 11) so I will probably keep playing him since I read TR experience is faster now.

Serial TRers still swear by GS weapons; there's nothing better for lvls 12-20, AFAIK. And some GS effects haven't been replicated elsewhere: e.g., Con Opp, Displacement clickies, GS +HPs (Gtr Elem Energy is on Alchemist Pendant, but I'm not aware of other sources). So it seems to me there's still a fair number of Shroud runs.

If you're continuing with your 11wiz, i guess your first order of business will be to familiarize yourself with the new enhancement system, spend your points and start questing

In your spare time, read up on epic destinies so when you hit 20 again you're one step ahead

The biggest change over the last year is the new enhancement system...everything else should still be pretty similar to what it was in 2012.

I'd recommend downloading Ron's Character Planner, build up a copy of your current Live character, and play around with enhancement builds (for free). You can change it pretty easily in-game too, if you decide something isn't working, but it costs you a lot of plat if you're always respeccing your enhancements, so better to use the planner first to...well...plan it :)

Ah, good catch. :) Though does anyone bother w/DT armor anymore? I confess I always found it such a PITA to farm those darn runes, I usually skip it; and now with the lvl 28 cap, it just doesn't seem worth the effort. But I'm a lot lazier / impatient than most vets when it comes to gear farming... :o

I think G-Land is still one of the more populous servers, but all are pretty healthy. Except Wayfinder, which is a bit of a sad affair.

You used to be able to, but they disabled it for a while. I think it's back... but honestly it feels like the answer to this question changes regularly.

As a Caster, you may want to do a Lesser Reincarnation, and bump up your new Skill: Spellcraft. This is pretty important now for how hard your spells hit. You should have 1 free LR with Kruz, and a +20 Heart... but that one is worth holding onto.

Greensteel is no longer the end all/be all of DDO loot, but it's still pretty good to have - particularly for TRs.
