I'm trying to figure out how to get through my rogue pl with the gear I've accumulated. Unfortunatly, my lack of forsight has led me to a plethora of two handed weapons. I'm just going to Otto's this life and was thinking along the lines of 8rog/6fighter/6something else meleeish, maybe plai for a save boost. Any direction would be greatly appreciated. I do have +4 tomes across the board.

Any Quarterstaves among these weapons, by any chance? There are a few named quarterstaves which go a long way, namely Chieftain's Spear from 3BC and Theurgic Stave from Threnal. Having Breeze from Abbot completely justifies making a Dex build, even.

A mix of Rogue, Monk and Fighter offers a number of options to make an acrobat (both 13rog/6/1 variants as well as 8 rog/6 fgt/6 monk, for instance).

How Crossbow-affine are you on that toon? You could run a pewpew-Artyish past life with 8Rog/6Ran/6Arty, if you want to go that road.

I do have the breeze, but had to noob up the guy with pali. I'm more familiar with pali than monk, so I'm more comfortable making mistakes with them

I trying for toon like, um, the grey mousers buddy. Fafard (spelling?) If I cant disable the trap, well, I'll just stumble through it type attitude. Blindly committed.

Appreciate the ideas though. I plan on using the breeze soon, but for the monk pl. And monk is another I want to do 8/6/6 to try and minimize the number of attack/boost/clickys.

If you make a monk-based Quarterstaff build, it's still worth splashing rogue, as Acrobat offers +15% attack speed as a tier 1 ability.

Aim for Rogue 13, Paladin 2, Monk 2+ ... if you're going to TR, fill out the other levels with paladin or monk as you like (since you won't likely take levels past 18). Pal 4 / monk 3 maybe.

Rogue level first, then some monk and paladin and back to rogue. Go STR-based. PA, Cleave, Great Cleave, Improved Crit, monk forms feats.

How many build points are you looking at?

Rogue is seriously not that bad to level - you really looking to Otto box it?

The issue I have with any monk/pali mix is the number of clickys I'd have to deal with. Quite a few only last 30 seconds. These clickys are game maker/breakers, but I don't have the dexterity to constantly hit this boost, that boost, the other boost, and still manage a cleave/great cleave.

I'm into 36 points now and will spend some time figuring out my last life that I plan on taking to 28 for an epic tr.

I'm using Otto's. Wouldn't even consider completionist without them. I'm not that good of a gamer

I had a similar thing, I used two handers for my rogue life. I had 13 Rogue, 5 Fighter, and 2 Pally, but that was right before the enhancement change took place. If I had to redo it, I would probably put no more than 9 levels in Barbarian. (Just be sure not to go 10/10). A starting int with +4 tomes if perfectly fine, and Barbarians get 4 + int per level. I would personally roll human or elf (human for the skill point, elf for the autosearch. That's about all elf is good for unless you're using falchions) I didn't have a problem with trap DCs at all. Early levels were tough, because I felt it was far more necessary to get my martial class over early (I'd take Rogue at 1 and 5, Barb at 2, 3, 4, and however many you want after 5). Rogues have gained a bit of power, but it's still not going to work for a two hander. You could take Fighter if you were really hurting for feats, but Frenzied Berserker gets a separate Cleave cooldown in its tree. If you can afford it, two paladin for the saves would be awesome as well!

I tend to ignore monk strikes. The only clickies I use on a build like that are haste / sprint boost / whatever STR booster (divine might, power surge).

I also can't really cycle more than a handful effectively. I just ignore most of the monk strikes while leveling (maybe snagging the earty / iron ones lateR)

What are your best weapons/gear you have from previous lives?

I ended up doing 8/6/6 rogue/pali/fighter and it was pretty nice jack of all, master of none build. Now off to bard (https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/430518-Post-U20-THF-str-based-melee-15-4-1-bard-fighter-clr-for-pl-EE-ready?p=5168515#post5168515).
