View Full Version : The U20 reincarnation discussions have completely and totally confused me.

I'm just curious if anyone else feels like I do. I think I must be running at -6 INT.

I've been trying to follow the discussion on Epic Reincarnation, Iconic reincarnation, etc., and I admit to being totally lost. I's note that I'm not an intelligent person, it just seems like an entire field of study I just can't manage to devote enough of my brain to figure out. I will trust that the players and devs are doing the right thing. I do give the game designers and producers credit, they really seem to be listening to the user population and trying to communicate upcoming changes well with those who have detailed questions and concerns.

I can't help but wonder, though, what will be the general public reaction come U20 if the thing isn't straightforward.

I haven't even TRed my other characters and I've been DDOing for 4 years, I mean to get to it at some point, but I've not really felt up to replaying the same content and struggling to level again - but that's just me.

Heroic TR: Any non iconic at level 20. You get a heroic past life.

Epic TR: Any character at level 28, you go back to 20 and get an epic PL feat based on your sphere (martial primal, etc)

Iconic TR: Basically a heroic TR for iconic characters, who start at 15. You get a heroic PL based on class AND an iconic PL. This is done at level 28. It will bring you back to 15 if you select another iconic race, or 1 if you go back to a regular race.

the system as a whole is only partly disclosed atm, once more details are mentions Im sure it'll become even more straightforward then it is now. not sure what part your having trouble understanding though, Apart from the Karma for epic reincarnation, and the ways to get the Hearts of wood. I dont see much else that isnt straight forward.

iconics use Iconic heart of wold to 'True reincarnate' once they are level cap (currently 28) gaining an inconic past life (based on iconic race) and the heroic Past life (based on class) Iconice PL's are new and havent been detailed out yet, but the heroics are teh same as always. if they choose to stay as an iconic they will gain enough EXP to level to 15, if they choose a normal race then they will start at level 1

Normal toons use the Heroic heart of wood, gaining a heroic past life once they are level 20, gaining a heroic past life, otherwise same as above if they choose to stay a normal race they go back to level 1, iconic will get enough exp to start at 15.

epic reincarnation means you need to be at level cap (currentl 28), and have enough karma (gained from destiny spheres, no mention of details yet) and use the epic heart of wood to reincarnate back to 20 (you'll gain enough XP to hit level 20 again, basically making this an LR+0), gaining an epic past life feat based on the sphere you choose.

PL feats can be stacked 3x, and it was mentioned that the iconics and epic PL's will have a passive component as well as an active toggle ability, and in the current plan the active toggles are 1/sphere (so possibility of 4 toggles from PL's from epics at one time, currently anyway) and I'd guess the iconic PL's will be 1/iconic so you could have 4 epic toggles and 1 iconic active at a time eventually. but this is probably subject to change.

just to clarify, its not epic TR. its just epic reincarnation.

No, it's not.

Iconic TR can be done at level 20

No, he got it right and you got it wrong.

Iconics start at 15, and have to go all the way to level cap before they can reincarnate (other than lesser to respec). They CANNOT Iconic or Epic reincarnate until they hit level cap.

You either go 1->20+, or 15->28. There's no cheat-code short-cut 15->20. Unless you find and exploit some bug in the system.

What DrakHar said is correct. :) Wizza you got it wrong :p

Or in graphical form: (choose either Iconic or non-iconic mundane path and follow the arrows)

Yup, i figured my simple three line sentences were easiest to understand. Keep in mind you need a heart based on your NEXT life, not previous. For example, when the system hits, if iconic PL are anything good, I will probably go into an iconic life. I'll need a normal heroic True heart of wood to do this.

Ah, too bad. 15-20 was actually going to be fun. Edited out.
