The flip side of that is that someone drops a Greater Teleport while you're looting, and you select the accept button on the teleport thinking you are taking something out of the chest.

And yeah, that's happened to me.

If you don't panic, you can still loot the chest from Maridia and it's all good.

After opening the chest I would loot it than accept teleport. It works out much better that way :)

What's the purpose of even sending a Teleport to someone when you know they are looting a chest?

Last (or maybe the one before last) time I ran Shroud, I opened one of the end chests, and "Will you accept a teleport from [party member who already recalled]?" window appeared. I clicked "No". I thought it was a griefing attempt to make me lose my loot. Apparently it was not, but a) I still do not understand what it is for, and b) even if not intended as griefing, accepting the teleport would have made me lose the chests I had not opened then yet. Not to mention lose access to Shroud altar -- I was crafting.

It was someone being nice and offering a quick exit back to meridia so that you and others could get back to playing for lack of a better term. However because people like you think it's griefing right away is why I stopped ever offering gt's to people a long time ago. I will not even carry scrolls for it any more. I teleport myself the rest of you can walk.

Just ask if people want a teleport. You may mean well and have no intention of griefing, but that is how it is going to be interpreted if someone clicks yes by accident and loses out on a chest.

im about 99% sure the accept button was in the same spot as my mouse at the time, and at least i was able to pass the good loot on. didnt try looting the junk that was in there i should have.

I'm telling you the bs by those that think it's griefing means that it's not worth ever doing for someone ever. The anti-griefing wannabe paladins of the gaming community only succeed in making making me less willing to ever help someone out. Congrats.

Well if it isn't worth it to you then it isn't worth it to you. Personally, I just ask to make sure everyone wants it and no one is in the process of looting a chest.

To each their own.

I once rejected the teleport, then tried to click on the bound item confirmation, but was teleported anyway, and got screwed out of my shavarath stone.

Is it griefing if you send em to the twilight forge? *snickers*

there is a new trend on guild ships to swap the Planescaller to different locations.

if you accidentally ask the planescaller to send you to Amrath but, really don't want to go you can quikly cast a teleport scroll before the slow casting planescaller sends you on your way.

enjoy!

ive had the same experience. also getting flack for passing blur because they had procs and wanted to get hit, or getting flack for passing gh to the rogue because he didnt need a buff to get the trap, or getting flack from a monk because i gave him haste and he was in air stance... but then god forbid you dont cast it on everyone else.

the worst thing about being a caster, other players.

My rogue says thank you for GH, even when it is not needed. As for unsolicited Rage, she just toggles Defensive Fighting to fix it. :)

Don't want blur? Get over it. I'm leaving your stone if you die.
Don't want +4 to saves? Not getting your stone either.
Monk in air stance gets haste? He runs faster. That's the only change. Get over it, swap to earth stance and more dps.

I don't understand why people complain about buffs. I always thank my casters/healers for any buffs they give me. Only time I request to not have buffs cast on me is if I have items giving me certain effects (true seeing, blur) just to save them some SP. I also don't request buffs I can cast myself, whether from a clicky or a wand, but if they're passing out said buffs to everyone, I don't complain. They last longer than my planar gird. :)

It's not a bug.
Some people do it to help make the game move along a little faster.
Some folks do it to be PITA's. They think it's hilarious if you don't get your loot.
Someone in my guild has done it to me twice.
I just take extra care to make sure I'm clicking on what I want to be clicking on.

That's not a new trend.
It's at least a couple of years old.
I've ended up in Amrath before totally mystified, thinking to myself, "what in the hell happened to Gianthold?"

Handy tip for the slow teleporters, like the guy to and from Amrath or upper Necropolis: if you talk once it starts a slow casting animation. However anyone, including yourself, who talks during the animation will be teleported instantly. Bug, or feature, idk. Enjoy.

Good :) With the reloot button, greater teleport button,DDoor and trying to see if people want some of the gear i want to share its a very busy time at a chest.
