First-time FVS Build - need advice

Hey folks,

Never played a FVS before, but I figured I might as well use the free lesser TR from the last update to respec a paladin that I have just lying around. I started with the False Hope build but don't really know if it will be right for me. I don't usually play casters, and prefer something that's pretty straightforward and survivable.

Helpful suggestions welcome. Unhelpful suggestions judged on comedic worth. ;)

My suggestions: bump up INT so you can max Concentration as well (at low lvls, you don't want to have to rely on Quik all the time; at higher lvls, it's important for Heal-scrolling); drop THF for Emp Heal (THF is only worth it if you take whole chain, IMHO); drop both Great STR feats, one for Overwhelming Crit; Toughness can be dropped or backloaded, as it's only worth 30 HPs at lvl 28. Recommended feat order: Power Atk (1), CL (1), Max (3), GC (6), Quik (9), IC:Slash (12), Emp Heal (15), Toughness or Emp (18), OC (21 - need +2 STR tome), ??? (24), Blinding Speed or Epic DR (27). I might also take pal 2 a lot sooner; all depends on when you want Divine Grace. [EDIT: if you're super-lucky and pull a +5 CON tome, you can take eToughness as your lvl 24 feat; that+Toughness is worth 80 HPs.]

As for Enhancements, I would spread them between AoV, WP, and human tree, roughly in that order of importance. Not sure the optimal config, but I'm leaning 33 APs in AoV for Zealous Faith, 20+ APs in WP for Ameliorating Strike, the rest in human for dmg boost, heal amp, action surge, etc. Or go mostly-WP for Divine Vessel etc., 20+ in AoV, rest human; can't decide which T5 enhs are more useful to melee FvS.

I actually just went ahead and re-rolled this character (since she was only a level 6 first-life) and am playing around/rerolling.

The INT bump should not be a problem since I also have 32-point available (which wasn't figured into the OP).

So I'm entertaining Drow or Elf as the race instead of Human. Also considering different splashes than Paladin. Maybe Rogue for evasion (and maybe some trapping?). Or just stay pure FVS.

Any thoughts?

My first life was a H-elf/FvS. In truth, he was a mess because I was trying to do too much.

Although I’ve not played one, I’m not a fan of Drow for FvS; I believe the +2 dex/+2 int/+2 cha are not much of a bonus for the class. Keep in mind, Cha only really helps a Fvs with some additional mana.

As with all builds, it really depends on how you envision your character. Rogue skills would be nice, of course, but if I were looking at adding rogue I would look at a bit more of a different combo.

Maybe look at a half-elf, 18 FvS/2 Monk – with Paladin Dilettante feat? You would gain evasion and a few extra feats. You could go 2WF with Scimitars, and gain some extra resistance via Paladin tree.

Too many options ?

I think you're forgetting Divine Might, which is now an Insightful STR bonus based on your CHA. So drow are a decent choice for a STR-based TWF Warpriest with either rapiers or short swords+Ninja+WP bonuses.

I should also add that I'm premium, and I don't have access to all races/classes. Half-elf is not an option, nor is monk. Appreciate the input tho.

I love playing stealthy skill-based characters. I love my assassin main, and I enjoyed my exploiter ranger for a while. At the moment, I'm goofing around with a drow fvs who is on the divine avenger path and it's not bad. Could be something I can base a custom-build off of.
