drow warpriest help

I was thinking of making a drow cleric with strong ap in warpriest tree. Question is should I go short sword to benefit from drow tree bonus or go longsword and say screw the drow bonus.

Never really played drow but from what I understand they get +4 to hit and damage with shortswords.

So just do the math. Compare the weapon options you have available to you and if the racial bonus puts the shortsword over the top then use it. You also may want to use the shortsword if you're having problems hitting.

I wouldn't get into the mindset of I can only use one or the other. If you happen to pick up an awesome longsword while leveling then reset your racial enhancements and put the points elsewhere. Swap back and forth depending on what gear you pick up.

And while I'd never go Drow for TWF cleric, if I did I suppose I'd go with the Vulkoor religion because why go Drow if you don't go that route?

A TWF drow cleric dual wielding epic envenomed blades would be an absolute blast as well as excellent support melee.

Yeah I have a Drow 17 Fvs/3 monk centred with shortswords and its a blast to play.

I have been thinking on how to LR my two drow mostly-cleric toons to take advantage of the religion feats and whatnot... (oh and a skill point or two from the +2 int tomes that'd then apply to L7 skills already?)

Going to shortswords from rapiers will naturally reduce crit chance which is a bit of a loss but... is the Avatar of Vulkoor any good? (Surely it hasn't learned to pull levers like the Palemaster skeleton? If it has, it'll be a no-brainer... it still IS the Avatar of Vulkoor that we'd get, right? The wiki hasn't been updated yet and...)

(The basic build plan is Phidius's 12/6/2 cleric/ranger/rogue (https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/332212), and I've been using mostly RS so far. Burst + Endless Turning has gotten to be a habit... oh and should I replace Toughness with something, and if so, what?)


Oh yes, have to farm up some Envenomed Blades at some point. Especially given the rogue levels and sneak attack from DWS too. And especially if the racial tree ever gets fixed...
