View Full Version : Suggestions for a soloable f2p/low-gear dwarf build for Wayfinder favor-farming?
Seems my toons on Wayfinder are far from optimal now.
Being a low-population server, it's slightly different from the others - not much gear available in the AH, for example. And the experience boost (is that still on, BTW?) makes for, in particular, trap gear being harder to keep up to level... and groups are harder to find, too.
I happen to have two dwarves there, both True Neutral (I think). One is mostly rogue (acrobat) and the other mostly cleric. The latter has an unopened birthday box still, the former was curious about it and now has a +2 dex tome (first toon I logged in on after the boxes dropped).
Does anyone have any suggestions on what to LR+20 one or both of them to, for those conditions? (28 point f2p, True Neutral.) Viability in epic elites is not important, being able to eventually farm tokens and TR is.
(Yes, I do have a few ideas of my own too but I'm not sure how good they are.)
Secondary objectives: It would be nice if it could do traps, and at least "easy" locks, too. And it'd be nice to have some kind of a ranged option if mostly melee, and vice versa.
And deleting/rerolling is of course always an option but...

Rgrs, bards, and clerics are all solid F2P soloing options; so are Pale Masters if you can make it past the low-lvl "hump." Rog splashes go good with all of them, except maybe clerics (due to low skill pts). What did you have in mind?

Given that I'd prefer to deal with traps and gear availability is even worse than on the other servers, highish int and a bunch of rogue levels at least. Oh, and reflex save to go with that.
Needs to have some kind of self-healing, and enough DPS to survive.
Primary casters have the unfortunate situation of also being fairly gear-dependent for extra sp, so that could be a problem.
I keep wanting to do a dex-based 12bard/6rog/2? but that's looking weird and gimpy already, and as a dwarf even more so.
I suppose something weird like 7cleric/2ftr/11rogue (acrobat/mechanic, just enough str to get Power Attack and Cleave) could theoretically have everything but... not sure if it'll work...

what about wiz18/2rouge?
I already have one of those going on one of the other servers and seem to keep running out of sp, despite buying all the +sp items I can afford from the AH... and neither do my CC attempts seem to work much even if my DCs seem to be reasonable... maybe I'm just not good at playing primary casters yet.

Still. Would this be workable for the +20 LR?
The base character is currently level 7 and the +2 dex tome is already applied, came from the birthday box. And I plan on reaching 1750 favor before taking 24. (Plan to get at least one more pack before then, possibly two, so should be manageable. Have hit 1750 favor on one toon already without any guest-pass favor, though.)
Silver Flame instead of Sovereign Host for the option of stacking +4 to longbow enhancement bonus.
