[UPDATE] **Unable to replicate the bug the following day, preserving the post for the moment in case things go "pear shaped" again.**
Tested this today on my level 5 Drow Assassin, copy/pasted my bug report. Didn't find anything when I searched forums or on the known issues list.
"Midnight Greetings allows you to use INT to damage. When you take the Assassin Enhancement "Dagger in the Back" it allows you to use DEX to damage with daggers and kukris. However the enhancement is not taking the higher of the two and only lets you use DEX for damage, which is counter-intuitive to most Assassin builds since INT is (generally) the focus stat.
I have not tested this with Epic Midnight Greetings as my character is only level 5 as of this moment."
Is anyone able to confirm this or test on other races and Epic Midnight Greetings? I was really looking forward to EMG, certainly not the "best" item but with INT damage I think it is competitive.

Did they change it at some point? According to this Midnight Greeting (http://ddowiki.com/page/Midnight_Greetings)gives dex/str to damage not int.
Epic midnight greeting (http://ddowiki.com/page/Epic_Midnight_Greetings)is the same way but it also gets a bonus to enhancement value based on intelligence.

Actually, Midnight Greetings (non-epic) is str/dex only for to-hit and damage. Epic Midnight Greetings is str/dex only for to-hit and damage as well with an added perk - the + modifier on the weapon can be anywhere from +6 to +10 depending on your int bonus (anything below +6 gives a +6 on the weapon, anything above +10 gives a +10 on the weapon, and anything in between gives the exact modifier).

Btw, here's a good list of alternative damage mod items in DDO: http://ddowiki.com/page/List_of_weapons_with_unusual_attack_or_damage_mods

I know that is what the tooltip says but I tested without the enhancement and was indeed getting INT to damage bonus. When I took the feat my damage went down (testing on target dummy.)
For reference my relevant bonuses while testing:
str +2
dex +5
int +8

That would be a bug then and with your bug report I would expect it to not do Int to damage anymore whenever they get around to fixing it. :p
Are you sure you tested under the same circumstances? The dummy takes extra damage after someone has already killed it once until the instance resets. If someone had killed the dummy shortly before you started hitting it for your test that could make your damage appear higher than it normally would.

Does this extra damage show up in the combat log or is it just a hidden increase to damage?

Today I am unable to replicate the bug. Perhaps my character itself was bugged? Midnight Greetings lists STR and DEX as potentials for damage so perhaps there was some interaction there. In any case I am not concerned with the lower level Midnight Greetings and once I get back to 20 I'll test again with EMG just to make sure everything is well.
Hopefully my character was just temporarily bugged...or I was hallucinating or something. :)

Hallucinating.
