So i have a sorc 16/2fvs/2pally

i decided i would spam magic missile and scorching ray with the AoV enhancement, the one to the far left. where each crit of these spells(thats each missile or ray) grants me 10 temp sp. when im into echoes of power, if it lives long enough i can get a decent amount back, i havent tried on a boss yet.

Now. when im not in echoes of power, it seems like the Temporary SP is broken, or not being used,

say i start with 2000 sp, and start casting after a while i have 2500..

when i lost the temp sp i may have 1500..

which makes it seem to me. that the temp sp is not being used first. OR its because of metamagic not using the temp sp.

in addition, when i was in echoes of power, and kept casting until i could cast other spells, i would cast ddoor or reconstruct, and not get the spell effect. i havent tried with an offensive spell or buff yet.

I have investigated a 'display issue' with SP when earning temp SP. When casting fast enough to keep the temp SP coming, my total displayed SP just keeps climbing. Oh how wonderful that would be if 4700 / 3600 were true! When the casting stream stops, displayed SP returns to actual SP. I have tested the new temp SP generation multiple times and multiple ways; my experience is that actual SP is accurate and there is a display issue.

whats the display issue? because the 4700/3600 if you get it should be right. until the temp sp fade away

so if you started with 3600, and cast a 5 magic missile for 4sp. and everyone of them crits, you should show 3646, and if you continue to cast 4/8 sp spells and crit at least once per spell on average, when your temp sp fades away you should have 3594. but i always end up with less than what i "should".

so is the display issue after it fades?

also. im curious as to whether metamagics take off the temp sp or the base sp first, i can understand tthat it may cost more than the return, but if your still casting enough, it should at least reduce overall loss.

Like many effects that give temporary SP or HP, the effect is capped and 'typed'. In this case, Just Rewards allows the player to carry 10 extra, temporary SP of type 'Just Rewards'. If you trigger Just Rewards while still having unused Just Rewards temp SP, your Just Rewards temp SP will be set to the max of 10 SP. Consider it like a bucket you carry that has a capacity of 10 SP of Just Rewards. If you get 10 SP from Just Rewards but that bucket has 4 SP in it, then you effectively get only 6 SP to fill your bucket.

Now, can you carry multiple buckets? Only one of each type can be carried but you can carry multiple types. A full bucket of Just Rewards with a full bucket of Fanning the Flames would give 13 extra, temp SP. Which bucket you use from first I don't know but a little detailed testing would show.

The display bug seems to disregard the 'bucketing'. When temp SP are granted, the full amount is added to the displayed total available SP. After a couple seconds of casting inactivity, the display bug corrects itself, showing the actual amount of SP available. If you have any temp SP in your bucket(s) it will be included your total available. The is also the '(+x)' that shows how many of your displayed SP or HP are from temporary sources (buckets).

hmmm. Moonbow does not seem to work. I see the 'Moonbow' pop up every 30 secs, but it does not seem to actually give me any sp.
