Empower Heal versus Empower

I am sure this has been asked before, but what is the difference between Empower Healing and Empower.

Seems to me that if Empower effects healing spells, that this is the route that I would want to go for a meta magic that has utility with damage spells as well for just 5 more spell points.

Am I missing something?

Empower Healing costs less SP and affects the HEAL spell when Empower does not.

Might have to play around with it. Seems that as long as I can get good average ticks on my heals, that getting Empower rather than Empower Healing will offer great utility and versatility to over spells.

You've spelled it right so many times in your character names that I feel I have to mention that Shannara does in fact have TWO Ns!

Why you've spelled it with just the one N when stating how huge a fan of it you - not once but TWICE I really don't know!


Please don't take this the wrong way - Just a notification as it's clear you do in fact know how to spell the name - It's just weird that you missed an N twice while saying how much of a fan you were yet your list of characters has 2 Ns every time!

Don't get Empower Heal because it boosts the Heal Spell. Heal heals for a huge chunk anyway, and will do alright without it. (Although with the massive HPs some folks have, it is still nice. Especially if they accidentally left their Hamp at home....)

DO get Empower Heal for the various other abilities that cannot be Empowered. Radiant Aura, Renewal, Cocoon, at the very least, are all awesome healing abilities that can't be boosted with either Maximize or Empower. Not to mention the fact that it is cheaper than Empower, and all 3 (Maximize, Empower, Empower Heal) can be used together on many spells.

its possible for a bard to get heal by going to the capstone of spellsinger. and it works on ALL healing spells, not just heal.

The new Spellsinger enhancement tree gives bards lot's of healing spells and power.

That assumes you get the capstone, which I wouldn't be. Ill investigate these other healy bits in spellsinger. I am just looking to be thrifty on feats, and saving a feat by just getting empower seems nice.
