Hey all,
I'm a bit confused by the description of this enhancement - it says piercing and slashing, but I hear it affects bows as well. Can anyone confirm? Not quite sure if I want to go dex/wis or str/wis on a future monkcher. Thanks!

It works. My 7-Rgr/7-Mnk is currently using it. It's pretty awesome. It also allows me to use DEX/DEX for my Longswords. It's pretty nice to just have to build for DEX/CON and splash enough WIS to get my Ranger spells and 10k stars.

Thank you for the info, hope it stays that way. I was thinking of maxing WIS though, to get full use out of 10k stars, but DEX/WIS appeals more to me since you can get higher AC that way.

Yeah, really depends on your build and your goals. Last life I was WIS-based and loved it. This life I think I'll probably have more DEX since it also benefits my melee but definitely not dumping WIS.
DEX = better Reflex, more AC, higher Balance/OL, qualifies for feats (IPS, Combat Archery, etc)
WIS = better Will, also higher AC if Monk, more spellpoints (if applicable), higher Spot/Heal, better 10k stars

I was going to go 12 ranger/6 monk with another splash of something useful, probably bard. The build is still under consideration though.
Also, I was under the impression that Combat Archery is still broken?

It is, but in a good way.
It's applying the extra damage at all ranges, not just point blank range. :)

Bard and monk classes don't mix very well, due to alignment restrictions.
You should consider Rogue or Artificer, which would provide full UMD and trap skills.

Arrows are piercing so yes it works and its WAI.

Also keep in mind that any non-Drow elves can add the Arcane Archer class tree with just 4 AP from their racial tree. You'll still need Zen Archery to Center the bows and use WIS as your modifier.

Oh. Well, thanks for pointing that out, nice to know.

Bah, missed that, thank you. I really don't want to be the trapper though (not splash trapper at least, hate having to carry a gazillion of gear sets just to be viable), so I'll have to think of something. Maybe fighter levels for extra kensei +TH and dmg?

Well, I was asking because ranged is typed separately from piercing in DDO for feat purposes.

All the delicious ranger feats though, gotta have em :D
