Quicken for many reasons
I self heal and also use my dog,so i set up two hot bar spaces,one is normal healing the other is healing with quicken.Quickened healing is for those oh hell moments.Normal healing after fights so to save SP.
I use it on deadly weapons also so the buffs go a little faster at the beginning.
TD i also use quicken on.Good for getting the spell off before beholders see you.
For the turret I use quicken as it helps to get argo off me if its getting to thick.

Havent used any of the others,mostly one spell(turret/TD) then rune arm and Xbow for damage.Healing when I need it.Thats the basic way I approach mobs.

Maxi is definitely one, its better than Empower in terms of damage:extra cost

I would have said go Empower for the second, before the EP...but with all the extra spellpower you can get now, those 75 bonus points don't mean as much anymore, for the extra spellpoint cost. And you can Quicken your Cocoon, which is handy. Likewise, you can Quicken your new SLAs, which probably increases your DPS more than Empowering them because you can fire them off faster and get back to firing your repeater.

I have a Pure Artie, ranged focused.

I only run two feats Maximize and Quicken.
And actually the only thing I run maximized is BB and I generally can get my ticks between 300-500 if it is not an evasion based enemy.
I force turn it off for everything else. Yes I use Prismatic Strike and Tacitical Detontion a ton. But for me those are about crowd control. I am only sitting at 2k SP so don't want to burn through my healing and crowd control mana too quickly. The extra damage with this is incidental.

I generally have my turret on quicken just cause it takes so **** long, everything else is situational.

I generate most of my DPS from my repeater and rune arm. Throw a BB and a tacitcal det and blast away. Though I have recently been able to get my TD DC up over 50. It is landing wicked regularly so I am actually usually BB less and less, unless I am not in a group.

I have not missed any of the other metas at all.

Enlarge might be nice on prismatic strike but only if I had the extra room.

I'd say Quicken and Maximize. Maximize is better than Empower regarding the spell power and definitely Quicken would make your life much easier. As stated before we have a couple of spells that too long to cast.
Nothing gets you frustrated like throwing a spell after the mob is dead only because that it takes too much time to cast.

In all honesty I am a caster based arti so I have all the MMs (including heighten) active on the SLAs and only Empower (since we get the decrease in SP for it) on at all times.

I like to use Quicken for emergencies (healing) and Maximise for my Blade Barrier and Tactical Detonation. Maximise will help get your TD with EDs up to 1k+ dam. Those are the only 2 I use. I buff the rest of my casting abilties with Enhancements and gear.

Caster focus, I have not seen many of those types of builds. What else besides the MM's do you have? Max out the Archo tree? What other types of feats do you carry? You use your rune arm much?

Yes, Quicken and Maximize if you only have two feats.

I run Quicken, Maximize and Empower on each of my artie spells, except for the buffs. When you're attacking something, you want it to take maximum damage so that you don't have to recast, don't have to heal. Kill fast, pump everything into every spell.

I don't run with heighten, though, b/c I only cast lvl 5 and 6 damaging spells. So my recommendation is, if you can, get all three and never turn them off.

And, no, I don't run out of mana between shrines. GS item and whatever of the Magi until you buff.

With the new SLAs Maximise and Heighten are the top of my list. Your SLA lightening spheres will kick monstrous a** on Heroic levels. Toss out Lightening Motes first and it's even better. I am curious about Extend with the SLAs, as all but one are AoEs, but I have no experience with it.

Even the SLA version of Spark with Heighten and Maximise isn't completely useless when added to the casting spam spree to help space out the cool downs.

Quicken is nice too, but it's the one I'd sacrifice if I had needs that prevented me taking all three.

Wow. I am very, very slow. I never thought of doing that and we've had selectable metamagics by spell for a long time now.

I only recently started doing that now myself. Probably because I've taken more Metas for the SLAs.
