So my above fvs used her or+20 and just went all cleric. I am trying out this divine disciple tree and wow.. Right now the less sp doesn't quite matter since I can blast nimbus of light and searing light fully empowered/maximized. I branched off into radiant savant so I can easily give out divine vitality and divine cleansing with a replenishing undead returns and heal with my bursts..or just smash undead. Sun bolt is ridiculously awesome. I don't miss the extra sp or my little shoulder cannon. I can easily switch to healer mode with the pacifism toggle in a pinch. This enhancement has really empowered clerics as a caster class. I'm just 3 wisdom less then my fvs evoker was.

Anyone liking the light side of divine disciple?

I like dd on my clonk, mainly searing light and holy smite, plus of course the extra evocation. Im just afraid that the damage wont really cut it at higher levels. Holy smite still has the blind effect which is quite nice in combination with ninja spy sneaks, but still the damage wont be spectacular later on. I didnt spend any points on nimbus, its too low damage imho and I got unarmed melee to mop up stragglers. Looking forward to flame strike at lvl 12, but suspecting it wont be too good in epics, while holy smite will still last for the blind effect.

The good thing is that you can have radiant burst and divine disciple, for efficient (if low damage) nuking and free heals.

I liked it when I played with it on Lama, and look forward to TRing back to Cleric.

That's odd. Why would you have 3 lower Wisdom? Just from class enhancements, a Cleric can pick up 7 Wisdom, while a FvS only has 4 Wisdom available from class trees.

Enhancement choices. Once I pick the caster level increase of light spells enhancement I'm going to grab the wisdom ones.

To the devs crawling over threads (Yes Cordovan I'm looking at you with a big bug-eye) please argue in favor of the players and keep Divine Disciple right where it's at - . Cleric is getting some much needed love and I think this is a reason to let it stay. You know how D&D works - and More clerics = good. You're attracting more healers if you have a little sprinkling of OP in there.

Thank you for the improvements.

That's all I can say, and I believe that it proves I agree with OP :P

Now that Ive tested flame strike, Im not too convinced. Its not easy to slot fire spellpower on a clonk, and the delay before it comes down makes it hard to hit stuff in a fast-moving group.

I still like some stuff out of divine disciple, like efficient maximize, the +2 saves, the spellpower, wis, and the evo dc, but Im moving over to radiant servant atm. The SLAs are mainly low lvl stuff. Searing light is nice if you dont have another ranged option, especially against undead, and holy smite is a nice aoe with blind effect, but damagewise theyre totally eclipsed by blade barrier.

I dont think dd is OP, but its what many players wanted: a viable option to play an offensive caster cleric before lvl 11. Looking forward to warpriest changes, but dont think ill take the tier 5 stuff.
