I am finally looking at the enhancement changes for all of my characters (I had put it off because I have 3 paladins and was depressed).

I have a modified Monster (human, 18 Tempest Ranger, 1 Fighter, 1 Rogue). Nobody who ran a Tempest back then kept it pure, because the Ranger capstone was so awful. I like having trap skills generally, and the extra backstabbing is nice, UMD, etc. etc., but....

It looks like the new Tempest capstone rules all. What is the consensus on Monster-type builds now? Is it worth the tradeoff of all that versatility to go pure for the huge bonuses of the new capstone?

Gah, that build was called Exploiter not Monster. But the idea remains the same: Is the Tempest capstone now so awesome that unpure Tempests are going the way of the dodo? Or is there something I'm missing?

While the tempest capstone looks pretty awesome, there is a good chance that it is broken. It was tested on Lam and found that the offhand doublestrike chance only procs when a mainhand doublestrike goes off. It is not known if this went live or not, no one seems to want to make a pure tempest to find out. See this thread (https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/424082-Dev-Response-Please-Offhand-Doublestrike) for more info.

Since Lam has been updated, anyone mind testing the tempest capstone on there to see if it is still broken? It's easy enough to test. We just need to see an offhand doublestrike proc without a mainhand doublestrike. It would be great to have more info on this.
