I'm relatively new to DDO, I've only been playing three-odd months or so. One thing that still confuses me is the levels when Sorcerers/Wizards/Druids/Artificers/etc. get their level 1/2/3/4/5/etc. spells. I know Rangers/Paladins get their spells at the 4th level, but, for example, what level does a Wizard get level 4 spells? What level does a Wizard get 9th level spells?

Thanks for your time.

Rather than give you a fish, I'm going to teach you to fish.

Step 1: go to http://www.ddowiki.com

Step 2: click on "Classes" at the top.

Step 3: click on the icon of the class you want information on i.e., Wizard.

Step 4: Scroll down until you see the Advancement Table for the class. There will be a chart showing you how many spells of each level the character is allowed to prepare at a time. In boxes where there is a "-", it means the character cannot yet cast spells of that level. So you will see, for example, that a Wizard can cast first-level spells at level 1, second-level spells at level 3, third-level spells at level 5, and so on. All spellcasting classes have this information for their respective classes.

Note: the levels required for casting are CLASS levels, not character levels. So, if you're playing a 4th-level character, but he's a level 2 rogue/level 2 wizard, you'll have to wait till you level up to level 5, and select to level up as a Wizard, and then you will be a level 3 Wizard and be able to cast 2nd-level spells.

Awesome, thank you very much Philibusta. I've visited that page several times and have never noticed that. Thanks so much.

The wiki is the best way, but the extremely short version is casters that can swap spells (Wiz/Clr) get new spell levels every other level (1,3,5,7, etc.) Innate casters (Sorc/FvS) are the same, but have 1 additional level before they get their 2nd level spell (so 1,4,6,8, etc.)

Other classes that cast spells will likely have some variation from primary casting classes.
