View Full Version : Radiant Aura Question
Flavilandile

I have a question linked with the Enhancement Crash...
I'm not sure, but I think they have nerfed the Aura duration, I can't find any reference about it.
Before the update Flavilandile's Aura duration was 2 Minutes ( 48sc + 3*25 = 123 sec ).
Now it is 1 minute and 30 seconds.
After some testing around it seems that it's not fixed by the level anymore, as Yaelle has 1 minute 40 seconds ( at the same level as Flavilandile ), but I haven't found what makes it change.
As there's nothing that explain the change nor what has an impact on the duration I'm asking here :
- anybody noticed it ?
- anybody has an idea what impacts the duration ?

My cleric gets a 93 second duration (1:33)
Caster level should be 17 (cleric levels) + 3 (Unyielding Sentinel 3) + 3 (intense healing enhancement). The combat log confirms caster level 23.
48 + (23 * 3) = 117
So, if it's still 48+(3*CL), in my case it is apparently using a (93-48)/3 = 15 caster level.
After some enhancement re-jiggery, where all else remains the same:
* No intense/incredible healing enhancements taken: 84 seconds (1:24) = CL 12
* With Intense healing 1: 87 seconds (1:27) = CL 13
* With Intense healing 2: 90 seconds (1:30) = CL 14
So perhaps it doesn't use the player's caster level, and always has a base level of 12, but it still counts as a positive energy spell, so that Intense Healing still affects it?
How do other enhancement SLAs work, for any class, in terms of effect duration and caster level?

My cleric: 83 seconds, 17 cleric+3 intense healing.
Your cleric: 93 seconds, 17 levels+3 intense healing+3 destiny.
3 levels for 10 seconds?
Of course, the leaves an obvious flaw - what's the base duration?
I rolled a morninglord: Level 12, 60 seconds.
Level 13, 63 seconds.
Level 14, 66 seconds. A pattern? lol
Level 15, 69 seconds.
Intense healing, rank 1: 72 seconds
Intense healing, rank 2: 75 seconds
Intense healing, rank 3: 79 seconds
See? Soulfurnace isn't always an argumentative rude troll..
In short: Aura has a duration of 60 seconds at level 12 (earliest you get it), increases by 3.33 per cleric level, intense healing also increases it. Haven't tested FvS levels, but comp is getting laggy. (And my "boss" says it's shower time. Alas, DDO will be left alone)
Cannot check with destinies, morninglord ain't gonna cap :)
*Edit* That makes duration follow the rule of 60+((cleric level-12+intense healing+epic destinies+[anything I forgot?])*3)
In the case of level 15 morninglord with intense healing, rank 1...
60+(15+1-12)*3
Or, 60+12.. Which is 72. Huzzah, it works.
*Note. I could have assumed 3 seconds per level and counted backwards, but this lets me 1) Be completely sure it's 3.33 per level, and not 10 every 3 levels.
2) Allow me to test intense healing. Sick of resetting my clerics enhancements.
3) Confirm without doubt. (doubt being induced by Turbine randomness)
Yeah, feel free to poke fun of me when I'm proved wrong. I have bad eyesight, so the exact value of the timer is hard to see. :\

Yet you're assuming a character with at least 12 cleric levels. IIRC, the aura is available to a character even with only 5 cleric levels - they just need 12 *character* levels total to access tier 5 enhancements.
So based off your formula, I hypothesise that it's actually just a simple 24 + (caster level * 3); ie. they merely halved the base duration (intentionally or not).
I don't have any characters over level 12 with less than 12 cleric levels, nor access to any Iconics, so I can't easily test this myself.

My bad, it's cleric level 5, char level 12. I read it as cleric level 12, and thought it rather unfair that 12 cleric was needed for tier 5 - and that was the only one.
Have I mentioned my bad eyesight? If I run a quest, I assure you... It's pure metagaming. With a reaction speed of .5-2 seconds... Things are fun.

My cleric at 24th (18 cleric levels) gets 1:35 for the aura. I definitely remember it being 2+ minutes before the update, so it lost a good bit of duration. However, my turns regenerate every 1:20 or so, so I can keep it up non-stop should I wish to. I'd only ever run out if I started using bursts or turn undeads as well.
