I've noticed that Touch of Death is no longer landing double strikes. Does anyone know if this is WAI or just a bug?
If it is in fact WAI, this is a significant nerf to dark monk dps.

I agree. Its already nerferd by being available at L12 when it was vailable at L9 before. On the good side, the DCs for Quivering Palm are better now.

I will personally test this in the near future, but my best friend has a dark monk main, and has reported hitting 3 times on ToD since the update (Offhand, and doublestrike). So i don't think they nerfed that. Again though, I will check it later. Also, I can live with getting ToD at 12 in exchange for the shintao DR breakers :)

Meh, DR breaking is not a problem. ToD at L9 was often an instant kill. Gonna miss that.

meh, at level 9 about 90% of the time i go to stun something and it dies from the offhand hit. ToD was overkill, and more or less a ki dump until about 12. Least when I've played monk. It does appear to be hitting on offhand, and double-strike hits though. I tested it a few times yesterday. :)

I have not gotten a single ToD to land on a double strike and my dark monk has a consistant 27% double strike chance and 127% chance when shadow double is activated. However you friend got it to land, I would love to learn.

TBH, I think ToD is not worth taking if you are planning to run epic content. It does not hit hard enough to justify using it and epic mobs just shrug it off.

I played with it on Lamannia on a L28 monk. My conclusion was that monks playing epic content can pretty much skip the tier 5 enhancements whether Ninja Spy or Shintao. Did not try Henshin tree, quarterstaves are not my thing with monks.

So, from my perspective, whether it has been nerfed or not is largely irrelevant as I don't see it as being especially viable beyond heroic content in any case.

Did you checked the Shintao's Empty Hand Mastery? Raising unarmed die from d6 to d8 is +1 damage per [W].

except from the fact that when landing up to four strikes for a min of 250 each and upwards to 750 each (or more with curse of the void/demonweb effects) pre U19.

3000 (or more) damage on a single attack is irrelevant?

I think you answer your own question.

What was pre U19 and what is now look to be two different things don't they. What I can say from my time on Lamannia is that ToD did not appear to behave this way. As a mere 250 point attack it is not worth taking IMO.

If OP is correct and multiple attacks are not landing then this is even more true.

Lastly, citing optimal damage isn't really convincing IMO. I saw nothing close to that on Lamannia and it appears that OP is seeing nothing close to that since U19.

I think the words I used were "monks playing epic content can pretty much skip the tier 5 enhancements" weren't they? I chose "pretty much skip" for a reason.

Yes, OP, it's a huge nerf x_x. I have not gotten a single ToD to land on a double strike or offhand since U19.

TOD seems way less shiny than what it used to be...I'm considering dropping as well but that only leaves one other dark move to get to a finisher. Unless there is another way to get to Dark.Dark.Dark quicker I just don't have the time as stunning fiist and quivering palm seem to sponge up all my KI...unless its a boss fight...even in Fire stance.

I just dropped it. Shadow double+TOD would have been too strong i suppose.

Without off hand proc and doublestrike proc it is not worth taking for the moment, also considering the huge investment in ap.
