Talk about it.
Downtime is 8PM to 11PM for most of the Europeans, here goes an evening of gaming.
Tough question for me : SWTOR or NWO ? since DDO is NOT an option, once again...
Edit : or maybe Civ V... as I bought the new extension.
Edit 2 : Wrong times... why can't they just give times in UTC and then let us calculate ?

Other time zones are far more inconvenienced by this than you are.
We lose an afternoon's gaming during your nice 7am to 10am downtime.
Sucks doesn't it? :)

Today, it is the afternoon in US. For the Europeans it is their prime time.
Tomorrow could be the evening. Oh wait, tomorrow is Friday. No updates after 5 PM EST unless system crashes(possible) or something is heavily in the players favor. Currently, I am noticing one thing heavily in the player's favor currently. See if it is fixed after this downtime.
Now to go read the release notes to see if it is a WAI and I just missed it.

I vote Civ V. That's a hell of a great game.

Ah, it's back up.
And as far as I know it's not emergency, Thurday is Maintenance and Update Day in NWO.

This downtime is being done to address an issue that is preventing players from logging into the game using the Mac client.
A European prime time patch that will allow 0.001% of the player base to log in? And this takes 3 hours? ***.....

I think you should leave and play NWO. It's quite clear from all your rantings here, that NWO's "awesome design" is right down your alley.

To be fair, there are people where 7 - 10am is their main play time and the downtime is usually at that time. So this impacts them much more.

Might be one decimal place off. ;)
Not sure if you were serious, but fairly sure a big chunk of DDO players play on PC since Mac client is fairly recent? I don't see why this is an emergency hotfix.
