View Full Version : Are all the new quests repetitive grinds?

The new quests I've tried seem to be very repetitive high-kill-count slogs, at least on elite. Dungeon alert red just standing in place killing stuff? Really? And with very limited map textures and only a couple of models per quest, that gets quite old. A fight with 80 identical melee opponents, plus 40 identical archers, plus a boss? Boring as anything, if you're melee. Really makes AoE spells the only way to go . (Of course, with the new LR, I could change all my melee to casters, I guess?)

Are they all like this? Anything tactically interesting instead? A quest where for melee "stand and repeat AoE moves" isn't the only viable tactic?

The new loot is so much better that you can't ignore the new quests. Surely some of them are different in kind, for those of us who don't enjoy this style of gameplay? I'm sure some players will love this new content, but I can't take much more of it.

Well, that seems to be the theme. Have only played 7 of the new quests sofar and they are all like that.

Devs: Adding 100 more enemies and increasing their hitpoints does not make a boring quest idea better, it just makes it more boring.

Yuck, I haven't tried the new stuff as I didn't purchase it but this sounds sadly like Neverwinters designs of adds adds and more adds with a boss.

One of the new quests struck me as something straight out of that game - something about the textures and similar room design repeated many times.. Man, I really did not like NWO - please don't make this game even a little bit like it.

For me they are one and done for the most part. It's too far to run to w/o paying to teleport and I don't want to spend half my game time running thru a wilderness getting to them. And I won't pay AS each time to make it quicker. Probably just go back to motu once I have a the equipment I need.
