Hi. I am running a 16th level Shintao/Cleric Dilettante Monk (holding 2 levels). To my surprise, the update erased all my enhancements and a new system was put in its place. I like my feats and probably can save the lesser heart. Has anyone tried the enhancements? They seem totally different. Things I like are: high wisdom, stun, healing party members (have devotion necklace/wands/scrolls), offhand attacks.
Any guidance is much appreciated.
JB

Sounds like you are Shintao. Make sure you also take some of the low hanging fruit in the ninja spy tree. I took a few sneak attack, enough cores to get to shadow veil and enough other stuff to get up to No Mercy. Those add quite a bit of damage to a stun oriented light monk.

EDIT: Also a few points into Henshin to get an animal form, now that they autogrant up to tier 4, monkey and tortoise are worth having.

I'd just say experiment with the new system. You've gotta learn it eventually, starting now makes sense.

However, to point out a few obvious choices: Sneak attack die from Ninja spy (I typically get 2d6), along with -40% threat gen (that's optional :P).
From Shintao: Deft Strikes - enough said. Empty hand mastery. Wisdom enhancements, of course.

They're just the obvious choices to me, not to say the rest is bad - I like a lot. But every build is different, thus I won't give you a full "To get" list. At the end of the day, all I can recommend is to use multiple trees. You have access to three, so take the good stuff from all :)

I'm a bit curious about the current Monk feat situation too. It now costs 3 feats to get max-rank elemental stances, and it looks like that causes some pretty tricky feat choices to be made, and it's essentially impossible to have full twf line, full stance line, and overwhelming crit.

Stances are auto granted at the appropriate levels for monks, they auto upgrade, so no feat cost unless your a multiclass.

you dont even have to drag the new stances to your bar

What 3 feats?! thought the stances were now autogranted? at least they are showing up on my monks and I haven't run them through a full respec yet

EDIT ignore. see above post ^^^

Weird, last night when I was on my 24 monk the tooltips for stances and elemental strikes were showing the base, level-1 versions, and the adept-master-grandmaster feats were showing if I looked at untrained feats in in my character sheet.

The tooltips show the base stance, check the buff and the actual benefit to stats

As to the OP, if you liked shintao, you'll like it even more now

throw plenty of points into shintao 41? for capstone, save ~23 for ninja spy - no mercy, because with 2 stunning moves, you'll make good use of it and the sneak attack damage. Next, henshin has animal forms- and h-elf has healing amp
