Hey all,
I had an idea earlier this week for a pretty cool pally split concept. I thought I'd share it here, and try to get some ideas for a pretty sweet looking build.
TWF
14 Pally/6 Monk
or
15 Pally/5 Monk split
The idea is that you get a ton of double strike in grand master wind stance combined with zeal, and then just beat the living snot out of everything that comes close to you.
The monk split also allows you to go DEX based for damage on your weapons, though if you wanted to go short swords, you're better off going STR based for Celestia, and then you can go OC as well.
This build also works with Sireth, if you want to go THF, though doesn't work as well with the Pally hits. Sireth because of it's damage type, also works with DEX based. Combine this with Quick Hit and +1 critical threat range with the henshin cap and you're in good standing.
5 Monk gives you access to Touch of Death, which synergizes very well with the double strike. Double strikes can also proc double strikes (though it is rare) so on a single Touch of Death with TWF, you can get quite a bit of damage off.
Alternatively, you could go Henshin for the Anti-Dark heal move, which is a nice burst of healing combined with your heal amp and allows for really good survivability. Henshin for the heal is better if you're not pumping WIS for EiN/ToD
The draw of 15 pally gives you access to a second 4th level spell, allowing you to take cure serious or if you really want, holy sword/death ward/etc.
The draw of 6 monk is an extra feat, 25% incorp with Ninja, and instant access to gMOF if you'd like it.
The extra feat can be used for 10k stars, which combined with halfling can turn you into a nasty thrower.
This also gives you adept of forms, so you would only need two extra feats to to get grandmaster instead of three.
You may want to consider longswords because of the synergy with pallys. The issue with this is naturally the feat
Oathblades are very synergistic with this because of all the doublestrike you would have more critical strikes and it would save you a feat.
Epic Timeblades are also extremely useful for the 6% double strike bonus, though you'll probably take a hit to damage in the long run. I did not have time to test this on Lamannia.
Assuming halfling+Oathblades+shurikens+DEX based, possible feats (Do note Shuriken Expertise comes with Ninja Spy lv3 core):
1 - WF: Slashing
3 - Whirling Steel Strike
6 - Improved TWF
9 - Toughness (Or Least Dragonmark)
12 - Master of Forms
15 - Greater TWF
18 - Grandmaster of Forms
Epic feats seem to be a wash. Get back to me on that one.
M - Two Weapon Fighting
M - Power Attack
M - 10k Stars
Toughness is kind of a filler. Not sure what else you could put there. If you want to, you could take the dragonmark and spend the AP for the halfling throwing stuff and as a side-benefit get some free heals. They aren't much, but they synergize well with your lay on hands.
Assuming Drow/halfling+shortswords+shurikens+STR based:
1 - Cleave
3 - Great Cleave
6 - Improved TWF
9 - Imp. Crit - Peircing
12 - Master of Forms
15 - Greater TWF
18 - Grandmaster of Forms
M - Two Weapon Fighting
M - Power Attack
M - 10k Stars
This one will end up doing a bit more DPS at the expense of going STR based and nerfing your shurikens down a bit, as well as spreading your stats a bit thin as you need every fricken stat to be a monkadin. I don't feel as though it is as synergistic as DEX based for these reasons, especially if you want a ranged option, but it still would be a formidable contender. Drow has a bit more synergy with this I feel than Halfling, but both are good.
