Ok Gentlefolk, I have a query for you all.

My main character is a scimitar weilding halfling ranger atm.
When I respec him I would like to take weapon finesse to take advantage of his dex, but scimmy is not a light weapon.
However, one of the new enhancements allows a ranger to weild a scimmy as a light weapon.
Does this mean that it is possible for him to retain his scimitars and use finesse on them once he has the enhancement?
Or am I as usual missing the blindingly obvious?

Thanks for your interest.

Well, you are correct that you will be able to use your Dex for scimitars; however, you probably don't need to take Weapon Finesse. The enhancement that causes Scimitars to be treated as light weapons also let's you use your dexterity to attack when two-weapon fighting with light weapons. So, you should be fine without Weapon Finesse unless you plan on using a single scimitar with nothing or a shield in the off hand. Also, the next core enhancement (available at level 6) let's you use your dexterity to damage as well. So, short answer....

Dex-based Scimitar Using Tempest = Yes.
Weapon Finesse Needed = No.

Hope that helps!
