Hi everybody. I got a human tempest ranger and I'd liketo TR it into an artificer. I've just bought the class and I know a little about it. (Just what I have read here). I'd like to have a halfling arti and I want to know if that would be good or which other class could work (I do not own WF yet). But in which enhancements, feats and skills should I focus on?

Someone just posted a Halfling build in this area... Before you TR, consider farming the Rune Arms and rcbows you will want. Do you have the Cannith Favor for Master Craftsmanship shards? Nice o drop the ML of rune arms.

Good advice this! I'd farm as many of the runearms as you can. It'll be nice to have a number of them on hand as you approach the ML. Most of them are BTA, so cant be bought on the AH.
Personaly, I'd say warforged is the best class for Arti, especially if you've never played on before. Artis automatically get repair spells, but don't get much for heal spells, and the heal spells they get suck anyway. You can take construct essence, if you are a fleshy race) which allows you to get some healing from repair spells, but I haven't tried it yet. IMO non warforged arti's are maybe a bit squishy, but still playable, plenty of fun, and overpowered.
If you've already done one life of ranger, Ask yourself if you have the patience to do 2 more lives of it. Each life provides a +2 to ranged damage. 3 lives would be +6, and using a repeater, which fires 3 bolts, would be +18 damage! Thats pretty phenomenal if you ask me! No to mention that it would give you +6 to elemental resistances also.
Personally I probably wouldn't go halfling, but only because halflings dont really match my style of playing. If you think it matches yours, then go for it. Problem is, arti builds have no room for strength, and a halfling has 3/4 carrying capacity. A low strength doesnt go to well with carrying around a bunch of heavy repeaters, rune arms, and other items. Even my WF arti got burdened a little more often that what was tolerable. I would say either human, or half elf, with a dilettante of barbarian for some extra DR.
As far as the build, start with 18 INT, get your CON pretty high, and make sure to put as much as you can in DEX for your repeaters. Arti spells are strong, but have pretty high Spell point costs, and artis dont get a ton of SP, so take enhancements and use items that will boost you SP as much as possible.

Thank you all for your advices! I TR'd into ranger again and decided to create a new toon to try out what I wanted to do. Anyway, I tried to get some rune arms and rcbows and as I got a shared bank I can use them on any toon :) So, maybe my ranger will be ranger until I got the warforged to create an arti, I've been reading that race is good for that.

Warforged is probably the best, but other races can certainly make good artis as well! Like I said though, if you have 3 lives of ranger, you'll be one **** strong arti! Have fun!

Yes, WF is the best suited to get the best self-healing from Arti, of course. Halfer is probably the next best since they can DM self-heal (though you wont be able to take Emp Heal as a pure Arti). After that, maybe Human just for the extra feat, though Artis aren't feat-starved by any measure. Or Half-Elf for a dilly, of course, though there aren't any dillies that pair exceptionally well with Arti gameplay.
I tried a fleshie Arti with Construct Essence; I'd advise against it. You get both Cure and Repair healing, but both are nerfed so neither is really good enough - you basically end up with the same Positive healing as a WF with Healer's Friend, but only half-power Repair healing.
