The active bard past life feat (Bardic Dilettante) grants three uses of inspire courage. If you take this feat as a bard, does this increase your total number of bard songs, or is it treated as a separate ability?

Usually the past lifes are more like a SLA and designed to be independent of the core ability. Like the magic missile of the Wizard or the weapon buff of the Artificer. So while I am not entirely certain I highly doubt they will stack for more songs. Last but not least with regenerating songs like due to Anthem items I rarely in the need for more songs on my Bard.

the passive feat gives you 1 extra song/life (stacks nice low lvl but high its not very big of some use for a deep multiclass bard).
the active gives you a second set of "inspire courage" songs/3 not useful for a bard you will never ever use these you need to drag these three to your its on hotbar slot its not the same as the normal bard song.
not payed attention to if they regen since they are "useless"

The active feat's Inspire Courage is exactly the same of the normal bard song of the same type. It increases in effect and duration as you level up, just as the default Inspire Courage does.
Thus, by proxy, the active feat gives you three extra songs of any type. Instead of expending a standard Inspire Courage, use the the past life feat (drag it onto your hot bar to get three per rest) instead of your standard one. You now have three extra songs of your choice since you didn't have to decrease your total songs with those free Inspire Courages.
The free feat Inspire Courages do not regen with Anthem and only regen upon rest. If you have a open feat, taking the Bard past life feat isn't that bad of a choice (especially if you are a Spellsinger or Virtuoso).

I was just curious if this might be a decent option for a low-level bard or a bard with a heavy splash. Since it seems to be an independent ability the answer is probably no.
I am intrigued by the response that it does improve as you level up just as a bard's inspire courage does. Does it only increase with an increase in bard levels or does it increase based on character level?
