When will we see.....gender changes as an option?

Good Afternoon Turbine,

I've been TRing a toon and I have several lives in them. The only thing that I can't change on a TR or buy in the store is a way to change the gender of the toon. I was just wondering, are there any plans to do this?

I was actually planning to start a similar thread myself. I remember at the Jillian's PAX East party this issue came up, and the response was that it would take some bit of work to alter the Reincarnation system to accept gender changes. Now that they are talking about entirely revamping the way that LRing (getting rid of GRing) and TRing work it seems like a good time to also explore the issue of reselecting the character's Gender upon TRing.

Wasn't it more of a core engine function that prevented them from doing it? I heard the interview in a ddocast. It sounded like they would need to save all of your inventory, bank content, guild membership details, guild XP, friend list, squelch list and past life feats, reserve your character name, then delete your character (or auto-rename it to retain previous versions), create a new character with that name but start you in the character creation screen and then transfer all of the inventory and bank details to the TR cache, and your guild, friends, squelch and past life details across to the new character.

Oh wait, I think I might have just written them the spec for it. First one's free, next one will cost you :)

After all, doesn't TR send us back to the character creation screen anyway? Why omit that one facet of change?

I would thing the name change is tougher because it is used as a form of ID.

Normally I'm against gender change as a respeccable option in MMOs, but in this case it makes lore sense, since you are being completely reborn as a new person :) Plus, gender is purely cosmetic.

Its not something that's high on my personal priority list, but I don't see why it couldn't be added.

Yes, please. Gender change either as store item and/or as TR option would be greatly appreciated.
