I'm thinking about dusting off my cleric and TRing into a Clonk for the next life (Human Clr 17/Monk 3). I want to be decent in melee but still be an effective caster (especially BB) and healer.
However, I've having a bit of trouble deciding on stats. This will be a 34-point build and I have a full set of +3 tomes.
Here's my first thought:
Str 15
Dex 15
Con 14
Int 9
Wis 16 (all level-ups)
Cha 9
Dex 15 is for Reflex saves (Evasion).
Int 9 is for an extra skill point at level 3 and 11 when the tomes kick in.
I'll be staying in Water stance that will make up for not starting with max Wis.
Not a huge fan of starting with Cha that low but between tomes, enhancements, and items, I'll be able to hit 20+ fairly easily. I'll also have the RS PrC so my turns will regen.
Thoughts?

Dex seems a little high: 14+3 tome gets you the TWFing feats if you're thinking about taking them, and saves you two points --- drop 1 from charisma and you can get wisdom 17. 1 point of reflex save versus 1 point of save DC's + 30ish mana (AC's a wash since Dex and wis add equally) --- think about it, at least, and look at your planned "final stats" to see where uneven/even stats can be shaved for a bit more optimization. Water stance can make up for lacking spell focus (depending on what your feat plan is, but you haven't mentioned much here).
As for charisma, 8 base + 3 tome + 8 item + 2 enhancement + 1 exceptional or insight from somewhere = easy 22, which is 9 turns; throw in one rank of extra turning and you're at 10. I've got that and find it to be mostly enough.
I don't have a clonk, though, so this is all theory. It's on the very, very long to do list

I would drop STR and Dex to 14 and up Cha to 13.
The extra Aura/Bursts are worth more in the long run.

Plus that lets you add Divine Might II (base CHA 13 + 3 tome)...at least until Turbine takes DM away from clerics.

On my next life as a clonk (currently doing sorc) im planning:
str 14
dex 14 +3
wis 18
int 8
con 14
cha 10 +4
On a 34 pt build you could drop 2 points of cha or str, you need the dex for twf. Max wis is perfect for dc casting, stunning first and GMoF dcs, but if youre going mainly melee you could add some more cha instead.
