Hello folks,

My helf-elf light monk is level 12 right now and I have a few questions.

First, I have used 15 points in jump, balance and spot. Is this a good time to stop putting points into these skills? I’m not sure where else would be recommended. Needless to say I have concentration maxed and will continue to do so.

I don’t care for the robe look and right now I’m wearing the quicksilver Cassok – I truly love this armor! I do need to find a blue sapphire to slot into it. Anyways, it’s much better than some of the other robes I have had to wear, but I like outfits better. I was wondering if I purchased an outfit cosmetic set would I still look like I’m wearing a robe? Heck, I would like to look like I’m wearing armor, but I’m sure that would be asking too much. Does the outfit cosmetic show regardless of the armor I’m wearing?

I have been luck to find a dusk heart/trinket (10% chance to miss) and a ghost-walking cloak (10% chance to miss). Do both of these stack? I feel like I’m moving faster and dodging a bunch, but is it just my imagination?

I think this is all I have at the moment and thank you in advance!

The general consensus is that 10 full ranks in to Jump is plenty due the skill capping at 40 so when you add in your STR modifier plus say the Cannith Propulsion Boots you rapidly approach the cap.

Dusk and Ghostly should stack as far as I know but don't quote me on that.

Dusk and Ghostly should stack as far as I know but don't quote me on that.

Dusk is a type of concealment. Ghostly is a type of incorporeality. They are two different things and so they stack -- but not in the way you might think.

Dusk 10% and Ghostly 10% do not stack to give a 20% miss chance.

Instead, one is applied at its 10% value. If that means a miss then you are safe.

If you would still be hit then the other is checked at its 10% value. If that misses, well all's good. If you're still hit then time for damage calculations.

As for what to spend skill points on, well that is an open question. Everyone has their favorite things. I like Spot because I don't like surprises. I don't care about traps, but seeing hidden mobs is important to me. So, personally, I tend to push Spot a bit more than others.

I also like oddball things like Swim and Listen. That's more just me so I won't try to convince you of those. Tumble is always fun and helps with falling damage. But, as a monk falling isn't a real worry for you.

A lot of players swear by UMD. Even with a low CHA and half ranks you can get to a useful UMD for things like Heal or Raise Dead scrolls.

And, one of my favorite skills is Bluff. I hate paying in the Delera's chain but I also find it useful for pulling mobs to me when I want to take on only 1 or 2 at a time. Your light path Kukan-Do can be used in a similar way.
