View Full Version : Stupid question (is this in a FAQ somewhere?) - list of inscribed spells ?

Hi all,

Is there a way to check which higher-level spells your (wizard/artificer) character has inscribed in their spellbook? You know, those spells that you can inscribe before you're high enough level to prepare or cast them?

As I seem to have forgotten what my couple of wizard toons have bought off the AH and inscribed... and bought some twice... AND I remember this having come up with some of the older games, probably one of the SSI AD&D games I think...?

Yes, I know, probably a stupid question, so where's the FAQ entry so I may read the rest of it too?

As far as I know, there is not. If you learn a higher level spell than you can cast, there is no way of knowing (in-game) until you get to the appropriate level.

What I have found to be helpful is to have a list of the spells for which there are no scrolls available to buy (other than at the AH), and always learn them when leveling up. When I find higher level spells that are not available for purchase, I make a note on the back of my character planner sheet so I will remember. I also have characters collect higher level and non-vendor spell scrolls and pass them to my arcanes, as well as having the arcanes keep some in their bank prior to TR'ing.

The list of rare arcane scrolls can be found here: http://ddowiki.com/page/The_Rare_Arcane_Scroll_List
